"the man was friendly and informed me about the nature of mold and was familiar with my home (its a Streng Brothers house) so it made it a great detail in his mold sweeping. The great thing was, though my house tested positive for mold, they also reccomended me to a company that helped me and further explained more about the mold I had (I feared it was blackmold, but luckily it wasn't)."

"In the middle of having my flooring installed, we discovered that I had asbestos in my kitchen and bathroom- the flooring installers walked out of the job immediately. I had 3 companies come and give me bids. San Diego Abatement Services was the most professional and knowledgeable. They scheduled the job the day after I called. They were polite, efficient, and did exactly what they promised to do. They were not the least expensive- but my confidence in a perfect job and the safety of my home was more important. They sent me the certificate of a clean air test so I can now finish my floors!"

"It worked out great. It took about 1 1/2 weeks before everything dried out. Noah was great and helped me out with payment arrangements."

"I brought asbestos samples to be tested and chose the 5 days option. Someone called me on the 5th day exactly like they said. I'm glad this company also offered to go to the home and take samples for me. The only downfall was that their office was a little bit difficult to find but after a couple U-turns I found it!"

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in San Diego, CA

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
