I emailed Better Water Heaters in the evening with the details and got a phone call from Frans who scheduled Daniel to come and give me a free estimate the next afternoon. In the meantime I got another quote from another installer after texting photos of the current installation. Daniel’s estimate was similar for a standard water heater replacement but although I had not considered a tankless install I asked for a quote on that as well after discussing pros and cons with Daniel. Daniel then waited while I discussed this with my wife and since he could do the install the next day I decided on the tankless install and Daniel arrived the next morning and completed the install in three hours. I am very happy with the quickness and quality of the work as well as the quality of the Rinnai water heater that was installed."

"Water Heater Masters were top-notch! I called on a Saturday afternoon - they were available 9am Sunday morning to come and inspect and quote. They only had one guy working that day, but scheduled me for Monday morning between 8 and 9. At 8:15am I got a call with an ETA of 8:45, which was a really nice touch! Despite telling me it would take an entire day to install, they were done by 1pm. They also found some creative ways to do the install to avoid drilling through my stucco (for the exhaust vent and for the condensate run-off). Very professional and clean-looking install. These guys may not always be the cheapest around, and they recommended a top-of-the-line heater (which is what I really wanted anyway), but I'd much rather pay a little extra for that level of service and support. They were professional, highly skilled, easy to work, and checked in with me during the process. Ex: during the demolition, it was discovered that my old 30 year old fireplace was attached in such way, that more of the inside needs to removed than just the door and trim or frame. To install the new gas fireplace I’ve purchased would require additional piece(s); after a discussion we’ve decided it would be easy now to convert it to an electric fireplace if desired. As soon as the electric fireplace was delivered, Escamilla was back the very next day to continue. I am very pleased with my modern looking fireplace!"

"The first visit lead to cleaning the area around the heater and burners and checking the thermocouple. Sadly that seemed to make it worse. Less than a week later No hot water for over 30 hours till the second technician replaced the thermocouple. All is perfect now. No charge for the second visit. The next step, if needed will be a tankless and their quote looks a bit steep. But I am really hoping I won’t need to go that far."
