Customers say: Quick response

"This company is amazing. I have a very wooded property and needed it cleared up without taking out the big trees. They mulched up the shrubs/vines/ small trees and even took out a few bigger trash trees. Every stump was grinded down to the ground and they even went back over the mulch and mulched it even finer. I had some gravel brought in for my road and they put their bucket on and smoothed it all out and packed it in with their skid steer. Absolutely amazing work and have told my friends and family that needed clearing to use them."

"Lorenzo was quick to connect with me when I asked for a quote On Angie’s list. He was professional and very friendly. He gave me a preliminary estimate and then when he came to my home to measure I realized that there would be a little more sq ft than I had anticipated. Lorenzo kept the original quote and didn’t include the extra sq ft. He came the next day with his team and finished all the work. Cleaned and sealed ceramic tile floors, granite, bathtub tile, and backsplash. It was a very reasonable quote and far cheaper than the other quotes I had received. I would recommend Lorenzo and his crew for honest and great work!"

"We used Honest Repair and Paint to paint the exterior and interior of our house. Their rates were competitive with the area and the job finished in a timely manner. Very professional and knowledgeable. The result? A beautifully updated house. We would employ their services again and refer them to our friends and family."

"Because the work took longer than estimated, the fish languished in the kiddie pool for two days and finally died. A more experienced crew would have refreshed the water and prevented this."

"They were great. They will be providing another service very soon. They didn't charge us anything for replacing the plants. We paid them a little money to kind of dressed off up. They are a great company. They got a good crew. They have plenty of people working there. Everybody working there is very professional. When they say they are coming, they are coming. They will be there. We called a few companies and wanted to go with someone local before we contacted Glasco. One of the companies came and they looked it everything. They wrote all up and they were going to call us to give us a bid. A month passed by and they didn't give us a bid, so we started calling them. First, we started emailing them and we weren't getting any response from them via email. Then we started calling them and we weren't getting any response from the phone calls. Finally, we got in touch with one of the guys and he said that they couldn't do the job. They are a big company in Houston. They are pretty bad because evidently, two or three people have tried to use them here and we read the reviews that they wouldn't get in touch with the people. Glasco do what they say. They are a little bit more expensive than other companies, but their work is perfect. We can get it done cheaper, but we will not get the quality of the job."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in San Felipe, TX

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
