Small jobs welcome

"Wednesday, December 28th 2023, I had Cedar Park Over Head Garage Doors come out and try to get my "Add on" remote garage door opener to work. They were unsuccessful. The "add on" system wasn't something they had installed and my garage door opener was too old to upgrade. I had the two technicians that responded put in a new opener/motor drive. They had the unit on their truck. There was no pressure just the information needed for me to make my decision. It took about an hour and I as up and going. The two Technicians, george Katsafados and his assistant, Gabriel, got to work. No BS, they knew what they were doing and did it. I was very impressed with their ability and work ethics. I would highly recommend Cedar Park Over Head Garage doors or all your needs in this area."

"They installed my garage door at a lower price than others and did it the next day, while others had a wait time of 14-18 weeks. That's what I call good service. They did an excellent job, including disposal of the old door and also installing a new opener at an excellent price."

"I live in Tarrytown and my garage door started closing halfway and reversing on its own. It felt unsafe, so I looked for a garage door repair company in the Austin area and reached out to Tier One Garage Door Service. They scheduled a visit quickly and confirmed the arrival time. Ben showed up and checked the sensors, track alignment, and opener settings. He found that the safety sensors were slightly out of alignment and the track needed adjustment. He corrected the sensor position, realigned the track, tested the closing force, and ran multiple safety checks. Before leaving he made sure I understood what caused the issue and how to spot it in the future. The door now closes smoothly and safely every time. The service was professional and straightforward. If you need garage door repair or safety sensor service in Tarrytown or anywhere in the Austin area, Call Tier One Garage Door Service if you need a garage door repair!"

"I asked for an estimate to repair a broken lock on a garage door. They called me with the estimate and offered to sale me a remote for the Liftmaster. They said the remote I had already purchased was the wrong type and could not be programmed. I have a tenant in the property and they needed a second remote. I agreed to the 322.00 fee though I felt it was inflated. I was told I had to provide a credit card before they did the work. I do not believe I should have been asked for full payment before the work was performed. When I spoke to the manager later to voice my concerns, he said they usually require a "deposit" up front. I also explained to him that my tenant was able to program the original remote I ordered on Amazon for half of what Action charged and I was sold one by this company unnecessarily. He offered me a 10% credit that I have never received."

"Thank you so much for coming out twice now! Both times I called, EJ arrived within about 30 minutes to service my garage door. The first time, I accidentally backed into my garage door while it was closing. EJ came out incredibly fast—especially considering it was early on a Saturday morning when no one else was even answering calls. He repaired the door, adjusted everything, and lubricated it. The door has honestly never moved this quietly before. The best part was that he completed everything in about 25 minutes and charged a very reasonable price. Today I texted because my door would get about 6 inches from closing and then reopen on its own. He responded immediately and was at my house in about 20 minutes. He quickly reprogrammed the door motor and everything is working perfectly again. Quick, reliable, and high-quality work at a great price. I really appreciate the excellent service!"

"I recently had a garage door opener installed, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The technician was professional, prompt, and clearly knew their craft. The installation was seamless—clean wiring, quiet motor operation, and everything was up and running faster than I expected. What stood out most was the attention to detail. They walked me through the setup, made sure the remote and app were synced perfectly, and even gave tips on basic maintenance. It’s rare to find service that’s both efficient and thoughtful. If you’re on the fence about upgrading or replacing your garage door opener, I highly recommend making the move—you’ll appreciate the convenience and peace of mind. Solid work from start to finish."

FAQs for garage door opener repair or adjustment projects in San Marcos, TX

Garage door costs range somewhat broadly, depending on the type you choose. However, you’ll also need to factor in labor costs, which vary from state to state and between pros.

A chain driven operator costs between $150 - $250. For a belt driven operator it is usually $160 - $450. A screw-driven operator is between $250-$500.

To keep garage door opener repair costs down, you should check that the whole apparatus is working normally on a regular basis. This means making sure that the tracks of your door are greased and fully operational, and that the door itself is in good condition.

Installing a new garage door opener runs from $250 to $500 at least. If your repair costs are close in cost to that range or if your garage door is 10 to 15 years old, you should probably replace it instead of repair.

However, it’s a better idea to fix your garage door opener if it’s less than eight years old or if repair costs are less than replacing.

Garage door openers usually last between 10 and 15 years. However, several factors contribute to how long your garage door opener can last. If you schedule regular inspections and practice proper care, you can maximize your garage door opener’s lifespan, saving money in the long run. As a general rule, practice the same care for your garage door opener as you would the door itself.

These tell-tale signs indicate your garage door is going bad, including:

  • Not closing or opening at all

  • The door reversing when you try to open and/or close it

  • Inconsistent opening and closing; more noise than usual (grinding, scraping, or banging)

  • Sticking or stalling when you try to open or close it

If you experience one or more of these signs, it’s time to call a professional garage door repair service.
