"I had a rat in my pantry. Mr. Ricardo Gonzales was timely,
reasonably priced, warm, empathetic to my situation, because I have just lost a
sole mate of 13 years, and professional, he completed the job, using the
solution that worked for each individual compromised area of the perimeter of
the house. He did not try to scare me using my rodent problem as did some other rodent companies. He was honest and friendly and he had
the best tools for the job and material readily available in his truck, so
there would not be costly multiple runs to the store, and worked quickly and
efficiently. The truck was magic. It had everything. He cared about my landscape and the deck, and he used products
only for what they were designed for. He had professional integrity and stressed that he never would use any material for the purposes that it was not designed for. He saved me time and money by buying
products when he was shopping for himself and offered me advice on other areas
of concern in the house. He advised me on buying a power cord for my gardening.
I will be single now and will be doing my own gardening. That was sweet and
warmed my heart. He fixed the plumbing (air conditioner condenser line) leek in
the subspace of my house and offered solutions for the crawl space cover that were
solid and not flimsy. And I love contractors that offer solid solutions. He told me about the condition of my crawl space. He
fixed my electrical problem in the dryer outlet. He told me exactly what was going on and fixed it
in no time with the materials in his truck. After I paid him, he fixed the
recirculation pump to work at a certain time schedule. He also, after fixing
the dryer electrical problem, because we had to move the washer to work on the
dryer and I had to turn off the whole house water for that, made sure that when the
water is turned back on in the whole house, the washer does not leak water and
that the dryer is working, and that the space under the dryer is clean from rat
aftereffect, so, he made sure that the job is really finished and did not leave me with any loose ends. He was humble
but told me that he has a college degree in Civil Engineering and was ery proud of that. And all of the
above tasks he accomplished in a fraction of the time. He took a half an hour
lunch and was gone for 30 minutes exactly. He gave me a piece of mind and my worries
of the problems I had in my house are now in the past. He is truly an angel. He
is responsible and reachable by phone. He loves his work, and is very athletic
and thin enough to fit into my crawl space. He told me that he considers his work part of the athletic activities that he does for his living. The other is hiking. I would be looking forward to having him for my future fix ups. He would never take advantage of a single woman that does not know construction and gave me quality work for my money.

"In addition to replacing all our windows in the house, we were starting a kitchen and masterbath remodel. The timing of the window install was crucial to coordinate with the remodel. We also wanted year end pricing, which was a substantial savings. We interviewed two companies and chose SGK. We would have interviewed a third company to be thorough, but it was impossible to find another company that did new construction installation that fit our time line. Rob Rowe (our salesperson) is an up front and "real" person. Did not come across as a salesman or try to up sell us like the other company's representative. The price was $8000 less than the other company for comparable windows (Anlin windows) and same type of installation.
Our goal was to have all the windows installed before our remodel started, but the installation date was delayed due to the rain. We were in contact with Deanne (not sure her actual title) at SGK many times to coordinate the installation and she spoke with our contractor to make sure the kitchen window was installed at the right time. In fact, SGK installed the kitchen and bath windows earlier than the other windows to coordinate with the demo.
This was the only real hiccup we had with the installation. When the bathroom windows were installed, the edge of the window and sills were cut back too far due to something with the flange (sp?) nails. This left a large gap between the window and the wood window sill. A couple of the gaps were filled with caulking and another left with the large gap. After discussion that this was not acceptable, a total of 3 window sills had to be replaced. They now look good. My take on this incident is that there was a lack of communication of why there were gaps when the windows were cut and it was not adequately communicated to us that the sills would be replaced at a later date (when the other windows were installed). There Quality Control person (Edward) was called in right away and he came by the house multiple times to ensure the installation was all done to our satisfaction. The foreman on the job was Francisco. Another worker named Manny was also very instrumental in making sure I was happy with the outcome.
I was assured that this would not happen moving forward and all the remaining windows were installed without incident. We are having to do some minor paint touch up around most of the windows since caulking is used around the drywall and sills. The windows are beautiful (as much as vinyl can be) and the wood trim that was all replaced looks great. It is primed and we still need to have it painted. The old windows had condensation and were drafty. The new windows have no draft and the house is noticeably warmer. All our neighbors are commenting on our new windows.

"They're not reliable, they don't return calls. He did good on the windows but the reliability is F. I remember him calling about something and I said, "well, we did have a contract where you would notify me," and they said they will do it but that didn't happen."

"STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. I hesitate to write this review only because it will only make it harder to get Sergio to conduct electrical work for my house. Sergio was fantastic - clearly dedicated to his profession. Because he was replacing the entire panel, came out to look at it beforehand to make sure he had the parts. No unnecessary time was wasted on the day of installation because he knew what was needed. I have already set up for Sergio to come to do more work at the house!"
