"Gilbert was professional and really took his time answering all my questions, educating me on what to look for, and inspecting my apartment. There was no visible mold, however, through lab test results from swabs he had taken off the radiator and floor/baseboard it displayed two strains of mold that are airborne/mold spores. I intend to buy an air purifier and continue to get to the bottom of my daughter s allergies/respiratory issues and communicate with my landlord as more is known. I wish I would have had the inspection months ago...invaluable information for the little amount of time and money. Highly recommend."

"The owner of the company came out within an hour of our plumber's call to him about our mold problem - very responsive. He gave us a detailed description of what he thought the problem was and how his company would fix it. When the remediation team came to our house a couple days later, they did exactly what was expected per what the owner suggested was the extent of the problem - cut drywall out, remove it safely from the rooms, clean up any residual mold, roll back the carpet and look for water damage on that, bag off the area, and filter and dry area. Justin led the team. He was extremely thorough, professional, knowledgable, and personable. He came back nearly every day for a week to make sure every thing was drying out as it should. He explained to me what was going on every step of the way. This company was wonderful to work with. Highly recommend them."

"The report was very professional and detailed. The response was fast. The price was expensive but due to the detail, understandable. I wouldn't hire again due to multiple requests for a completed report and estimate for the mold remediation and just getting robotic replies that didn't answer my questions."

"We had a small kitchen fire and fire retardant went EVERYWHERE from the fire extinguisher and the fire department. On Site came very quickly to assess damages, fire happened on a Friday night and they were at my house Saturday morning! The on Site team did a fantastic job! Everyone was so nice and I felt that they genuinely cared about my family and I, and what had happened. They were respectful of all our belongings, and took great care in cleaning everything. The team was at my house for approximately 2 weeks, we got to know them quite well! They were even great with my dogs and had no problem if I had to drop them off for a little while (we were in a hotel for those 2 weeks, and it was difficult to leave them alone). Even though our lives were turned upside down and things were crazy for a while we had a positive experience with On Site! Thank You to ALL :) <br />"

"We had an ongoing issue where water would occasionally creep into our finished basement where the wall and floor meet. Part of our problem is due to iron ochre buildup in the soil which clogs my drain tiles. After the last time of ripping up part of the laminate floor, I decided to look into waterproofing solutions. I had two other companies come and try to sell me the moon. One wanted $23k and I would have to cut out the drywall and do a bunch of prep work myself. Rick Jacobs, the owner of Absolute Waterproofing came to my house to give me the estimate himself. He was very thorough, not pushy, and gave me a price much less than the competitors. Plus they did all the prep work and put the drywall and paneling that had to be removed back in place. We just finished yesterday, and so far I'm very pleased. I still have a lot of work to do in putting our basement back together and making it look nice again, but the crew that Rick sent to do the initial waterproofing and the putting back together a few weeks later were very prompt and courteous and hard working. So far, we're very happy with everything."

FAQs for toxicity and mold removal projects in Sanford, MI

Remediation should keep mold from returning as long as the moisture source is eliminated. Fix leaks, control humidity, and replace water-damaged materials, then schedule periodic inspections to stay ahead of new growth. With those safeguards, your home can stay mold-free for the long haul while protecting both health and property value.

Most pros recommend leaving the home while they work on mold remediation. Removing mold stirs up airborne spores that can aggravate respiratory issues, and contractors can work more efficiently in an empty space. A short, temporary relocation keeps everyone in your family safe and lets the crew finish the job without interruption.

Mold shouldn’t return once the moisture problem is fixed. Stay vigilant: repair leaks right away, keep humidity below 50 percent with a dehumidifier placed in damp areas, and improve ventilation where needed. Routine checks for leaks and mold and quick repairs go a long way toward keeping your home mold-free.

Mold spores can trigger nasal congestion, throat irritation, coughing, wheezing, eye irritation, or skin rashes. People with asthma, allergies, or weakened immune systems often feel the effects sooner and more intensely. Some molds also release mycotoxins linked to serious respiratory or neurological issues. Swift remediation and better ventilation are the best defenses.
