"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"I have an 8 year old deck, that needs 8 years old type of maintenance, loose screws, loose post tightened, sanding the floor for a good sealant, etc, nothing major, just a little TLC from a handyman challenged home owner.
When I saw the coupon on Angie's List for $199 Deck Restoration, I was thrilled and thought I was getting just what I needed for $199. On the initial email, i explained that my deck was a little bigger then the 12x12 the coupon called for and I would be willing to pay more for extra work , I just needed a quote. The response back I got was the crew will be here Thursday.
The crew that showed up was very professional and courteous. They did exactly what they were expected to do and even went above and beyond because I forgot to take the grill off the deck and they did it for me.
They went about their job and power washed the deck including the floor and rails. They did a nice job and left.
I emailed the company the following Saturday and asked when the folks were coming back to apply the sealant and that I would like to talk about the extra work that needs to be done. I was told they did apply the sealant and it similar to "Car Wash" sealant. Its sprayed on when you power wash.
For some reason I thought this was for deck restoration, based on the title of the coupon, I unfortunately didn't read the fine print.
as this was essentially a deck power wash with a sealant similar to "Car Wash" sealant that is applied.
The deck looks like its been power washed, which is a good thing, but I now have a company coming to do a deck restoration.

"Everything went wonderfully with this company.  They were very professional, listened to exactly what my problem was, and explained to me how they were going to diagnose the problem and/or solve it before doing any actual work.  Once they started, the team (three people came) worked together like a well-oiled machine.  One was in the room with diagnostics, one was at the fuse box looking for possible problems there, and the third went into the crawlspace beneath our house to look at the physical wiring.  Once the problem was found (there was a faulty wire beneath the house that had come loose from the junction box), it was fixed and tested within minutes and another full diagnostic was done to make sure there were no other possible issues.  They cleaned up after themselves very neatly.  They also replaced the light switch with a dimmer switch at no extra cost!  Well within my budget, and came in even lower than their original (FREE) estimate!  I would highly recommend this company to anyone in the Bergen County area.
