"Its been six months since Aquarius Home Services installed our water softening and reverse osmosis sytems. We love having soft water for washing and bathing and knowing that our drinking water is safe to drink. As part the followup purchase contract Aquarius provides, today our technician, Nick Knapper, tested all the equipment to ensure everything was running properly. He answered all my questions, changed filters, filled the salt tank, and left additional salt. I couldn't have asked for more prompt, courteous, and reliable service. Thank you, Nick and Aquarius Home Services!"

"Ryan did a fantastic job roughing in my post frame building for a bathroom and running a gas line extension from my house. The project had a small window to get the work done, making scheduling a plumber difficult. Citywide arrived on time and provided a professional service and product, rolling with changes that popped up during the build. I will definitely call on Citywide to finish the plumbing in the shop next year and to help with any other future work in our house! I will recommend them to my friends in the area!"

"Norblom Plumbing was an outstanding company to work with. They were able to schedule a visit within 1 or 2 days. My husband talked with the plumber so I'm afraid I don't know what his name was. But he arrived on time, he listened to what was needed, tightened the front faucet which didn't need replacing after all, and replaced the back faucet. He was efficient and everything has been working perfectly since he was here! I also thought the price charged was very fair."

"The following review is for Sean Harris. I had my home built in Maple Grove in 1986. Being widowed, I never had anyone who could keep up on my repairs and/or updates regarding my plumbing issues. Sean came out last fall for the first time and did repair my front yard outside faucet that was dripping. This spring when turning my outside faucets, the front faucet was still dripping. At the time of booking an appointment for Sean to return and repair the faucet, I also booked for him to check out my sump pump (it was the original one from when the house. In the last months, I have had Sean out to replace that outside faucet, replace my sump pump, replace both outdated toilets, and do a repair in the shower in the lower-level bathroom. Each time, Sean gave me the price for each repair/replacement before doing any work. He always very professional and polite. Since I am battling cancer, he was very cautious to wear a mask. I will always call Tim’s Plumbing and request for Sean to return with any future repairs/replacements I will have. I wish I could give him a 10 Star ranking!!!!!!"

"Earlier in the year, Jeff had installed new kitchen countertops and new backsplash tile.  Overall, we were pleased with the results once some touch-up work was done.  When a new microwave was installed recently, it was considerably shorter than our old one, and the new tile no longer covered all of the wall below the microwave. Jeff responded to our call for help and came when he had an opening in his schedule. He did the work quickly and professionally, pulling out the stove, chipping off a line of tile, and installing new tile to better match the pattern that an extra row of tile required. The price was reasonable. <br />"

"Look no further...Tony and his crew are the people to hire. They did a fantastic job on my second-floor bathroom addition. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out, and my highest recommendation goes out to Tony and Barr Webb Plumbing.  Tony (Barr Webb Plumbing) was actually the first person I contacted when considering a bathroom addition.  He consulted with me in a thoughtful and respectful manner.  He took the time to get a clear sense of what I was looking for, and he was willing to discuss his recommendations and ideas.  It was clear from the start that Tony was skilled in his craft as a plumber, as well having a lot of experience in the various aspects of general contracting, remodeling, and construction.   <br /> Since Tony was the first person I consulted, I felt the need to get lots of other bids from contractors, remodeling companies, etc. This took months, and, in hindsight, it was probably unnecessary!  Throughout the process of getting bids and meeting with people, I compared everyone to Tony.  Tony offered a great bid, which couldn't be matched! But as important as that was in my decision-making process, it was equally important for me to work with someone that I believed to be competent, friendly, and trustworthy.  This led me to choose Tony to take on this project both to do the plumbing for this bathroom addition as well as manage the project.   <br /> Prior to the work getting started, we demo'ed this former bedroom it's studs.  Tony and his crew then had a blank slate to do their magic! I got a great bathroom in the end.  Tony and the people with whom he worked were responsive and open to feedback, modifying things along the way as needed. The bathroom addition required some unexpected ductwork and framing along the way, which went smoothly.  I was also able to get a higher and much more esthetically-pleasing cathedral-style ceiling than the lower flat ceiling that I had expected.  All the work was done promptly, and I knew who was coming and going and the steps along the way.   Tony was an integral part of coordinating each piece of the project (e.g., plumbing, ductwork, electrical, framing, sheetrock, tile work, installation of shower/sink/toilet, and finishing work), as well as the inspector visits.  I appreciated the attention to detail by Tony and the crew, as well as how well they cleaned up in- between various parts of the project. <br /> I hope you can see through the pictures and my words that I was (and am) very pleased with the work that Tony and his crew did in transforming my former bedroom into this amazing bathoom! <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Forest Lake, MN

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
