"recently hired Bright Room Electric for some electrical work in my home, and I couldn?t be more impressed. From the first phone call to the final walkthrough, their professionalism and attention to detail stood out. The electricians arrived on time, explained the work clearly, and completed everything efficiently and safely. They were respectful of my home, cleaned up after themselves, and made sure I was completely satisfied with the results. It?s rare to find a company that combines skill, reliability, and great customer service?but Bright Room Electric delivered on all fronts. "Blazer Electric was excellent. They installed a new outlet in my kitchen with causing minimal mess since this was a brand new outlet so I could install an oven range hood. They used all the PPE precautions and were pretty thorough and polite. I will definitely have them do my future electrical work when needed."

"Gary installed recessed wafer lights and two new outlets in our living room, and new ceiling fans and switches in two bedrooms that had no prior electric/lighting. All work was completed in timely fashion and to high quality standards. Gary was very professional and kind. My favorite part of working with Gary was his excellent communication. He got back to us when others didn't. He made every necessary phone call to confirm planning and materials were just the way we wanted. He also happily adjusted his schedule to complete additional work for us and offered a gift on completion of work for our soon to be born son. If you're looking for a great local electrician, give Gary at SSE Electric a call."

"I'm glad we hired A and Z. Barry Goldstein gave us a call and come to our residence to look at the work needed. Barry is a great and sincere person and we enjoy the small talk but got to business. We were in need of GFCI electric switches in the kitchen, bathroom, and other areas. Plus, we need new electrical outlets in our closets in both bedrooms and have the pulley taken out, and ad a fixture on the outside of the closet. We also had a hazard with the powerline where the clamps that are attached to the outside wall of the house were hanging out. Plus the kitchen exhaust fan and the ceiling fan needed to be installed and they did. The crew explained what is expected in the process and the price. They placed it back to her tight in order for us to get COMED to fix the wiring. They came and fixed the job and did it cleanly and professionally. The crew was great to talk to and we felt they value customer service no matter what the job. We like their overall work and are responsive. I recommend A to Z for anyone looking for small to big jobs. Great job they did."

FAQs for electrical switches, outlets & fixtures install or repair projects in Schiller Park, IL

To select and hire an electrician for your light switch installation, start by evaluating candidates as you would for any skilled position. Ask detailed questions, request a written quote, and verify their licensing credentials. This careful screening prevents unexpected fees and ensures every aspect of the installation, including any drywall repairs, complies with code.

A light switch can malfunction due to compromised wiring or overheating conditions. Faulty connections and excess heat diminish the switch’s performance. If you hear crackling, popping, or hissing sounds when toggling the switch, this indicates active electrical faults that pose a safety hazard and demand immediate professional inspection. Prompt attention prevents further damage and ensures reliable operation.

Installing a light switch takes 30 minutes or less, on average. The installation time depends on the switch type, with dimmer switches requiring additional time compared to standard on-off switches. While the hardware replacement might be completed in 15 minutes, it's essential to adhere to safety protocols, like turning off the circuit breaker and verifying there's no power, for a safe and code-compliant installation.
