"From his rapid response on a free quote to completion of my request, Shane of DC Services was on point! His entire crew was courteous, positive, hard working and reliable. Amazing! Shane’s questions and suggestions were very helpful, it made me think of things I hadn’t. He always understood and honored my vision and the reasons behind it which made my project a breeze. I trust them completely. Shane and Shannon initially came to do the free estimate on my weed infested backyard (aggravated by recent rains). An estimate was produced a few days later and they arrived on the weekend. Shane’s schedule of services were flawless, he stuck to the time table and started and finished exactly when he said he would. As stated in the proposal, Shane and crew cleared out the weeds, removed old gravel, put a weed deterrent, laid a weed barrier and edging around the perimeter of my backyard. They also removed all the debris along with a wooden table that I didn’t want. In addition, which was not in the quote, they power washed my sidewalk in the backyard, and a hexagon cement platform. They filled in the entire backyard with the exact gravel I requested and leveled it to a perfect height. I love it! Shane, Shannon, Deuce and Kona were always so easy to talk with, I could ask any of them a question. The entire crew was diligent and committed. They were constantly working to get the job completed efficiently. The truck which hauled the gravel was parked in my assigned stall (where they were told to park). A tarp was laid to catch any falling gravel, but still gravel went astray. I witnessed the crew sweep up and carry away any gravel left in the stall. They left it cleaner than when they arrived! Shane and crew all have a great work ethic, something that’s rare these days. I’m so delighted that I decided to work with them and will definitely do so again should I need to. They have an extensive range of services which seems endless. Shane and his entire DC Services crew were very appreciative for the opportunity to do business with me, but I was more impressed and delighted to have them create my peaceful backyard space again. They delivered above and beyond their quote and the best part about it was they were happy to do it! I love the fact that they take pride in what they do, and they do it exceptionally well. In the future, if I or anyone I know need services they provide, I’ll surely highly recommend them with no hesitation. "The work itself was done very well. I have no complaints with the work itself. I also appreciate the effort it took for the owner, Clayton, to arrange a time to come to my condo to do the work. My schedule was hectic, and we worked out and changed times. He was very good at returning text messages, checking and rechecking his schedule, and more. Also the crew that came to work at my condo were polite and friendly (fun to talk with). However, Xtreme Services fell short of my expectations in a few ways. First, Clayton brought 4 crew members with him. Who needs 5 people to do such simple handyman tasks? He told me that he had a bigger job just after mine, so he brought the whole crew. Second, they arrived in a truck without a logo and parked in a handicap parking spot. (They did have a handicap tag, but I did not see anyone who was actually handicapped.) These two factors created a problem for me. The condo security was a little surprised to have 5 handymen arrive in a truck and park in a handicap zone although there was plenty of other parking in a close garage guest parking spot. Security apparently contacted the condo manager who checked us out to make sure there was no trouble. This made me look bad. Second, it cost me $420.00 for them to do these simple jobs in two hours. I expected to pay about $250 to $300 as they did come to my condo, which is fairly high end, so I expected to pay a little extra for the service, but certainly not as much as I was charged. Third, I asked for an invoice, and Clayton asked me, "Do you need it for taxes or something?" I said that I didn't and he simply looked at me waiting for me to tell him to forget it, which I stupidly did. I really did want an invoice to see why I was charged so much, as well as proof that Xtreme Services did the work if I had any problems later on. (I paid cash.) I actually blame myself for not pushing for the receipt/invoice. But, still, any good business is going to write up an invoice at the end of the work. If Xtreme Services wants to continue to grow and get jobs, they need to know this, especially when working with people in Honolulu condos. I can add that I didn't ask for an estimate, being trusting, and this was likely a part of the problem with how much I ended up paying. Enough said."

The crew did an excellent job with a difficult project, coping with weather and tight spaces. The experience and knowledge of the contractor showed in his explanation of what his crew would do and in the efforts at problem-solving, which are inevitable when dealing with old houses. Overall we are very pleased with the project."

"We are 3/4th's of the way completed and I'm confident I will continue to be completely more than satisfied with KNA's professional work. What stands out for me in working with KNA is the role of the General Contractor and the outstanding men who have been working on my deck. First, the General Contractor, Ben, is involved in every aspect of the job and keeps me abreast of the job while also recommending areas of importance. His expertise was invaluable as a lot of his initial concerns on the deck have been shown to be true. Both Ben and his men's enthusiasm and love for their job is evident everyday by how they explain what they are doing and the importance on why they are doing it a certain way. They are focused on doing the best job possible. Their work ethics is a reflection of their boss, Ben. When Ben first came out to my home he immediately noted the wood rot and made it clear he can't determine the extent of the wood rot until they start to remove a couple deck boards to install flashing. He also voiced his concerns how the deck was originally waterproofed and stated how he believes decks such as mine should be done and explained why. He also made some key recommendations to improve the safety of the deck and to make it more efficient such as: 1. He noted the railings of the deck was a safety concern due to the wood rot. 2. He noted how they could divert water to our gutter system in an area where water falls freely and adds to the flooding we get during heavy rain beneath the deck. 3. Because of flooding we get during heavy rain, Ben, extended the deck by a foot so it will overlap our lower deck. This is extremely helpful in that the water runoff does not fall directly on our concrete beneath the deck where it pools/floods, but, rather the water would fall onto our lower deck which is built over a downward slope. 4. He recommended sidings to be used underneath the deck to hide the joists. During the course of this job, we are in our third and last revision to our contract due to the extensiveness of the wood rot. The extensive wood rot was found to be due to flashing not installed, the majority of the deck was not sloped for water runoff, plywood used was only 1/2 inch thick and not the required 3/4 inch thick (the plywood also had wood rot). As a result of the above, it became clear the deck was an accident waiting to happen as the railings were extremely loose due to the wood rot. It also became clear the job could not have been done with a band aid fix. It needed to be totally torn down and rebuilt. We are in the finishing phases were KNA will now apply the final touches of painting and water proofing the deck. A quick note-when the sidings were recommended to hide the joists he mentioned this would be a good time to also add some lighting. The only additional cost to me was the buying of the lighting fixtures, everything else was within the budget. KNA treated my home as if it were their own. Recommending changes that didn’t add"
