"Prior to the work starting, Massey came out and did a very thorough job of explaining the work, the process, and the level of effort. The bid layout was fantastic, including color photos of the chimney outlining the area they were going to rebuild, and a detailed explanation of what the costs include. I did my due diligence and got several bids from the well known local masonry companies, and Massey's was right in the mix competitively. What really impressed me about Massey was how they handled what happened next......as soon as they showed up and set up the scaffolding, I got a call from Matt telling me they had to stop work on the rip down because we had BATS!!! Yes, bats were living in between our chimney and our flue and had wedged in there from the gaps in the brick mortar. And so began a multi- week process for us to rid the bats before they could complete the chimney project. Throughout the entire 4-5 week delay, Massey was so accommodating and patient during what was a stressful time for us to contract a pest solutions company to get the bats out so they could finish the chimney. They left the scaffolding in place and kept in touch frequently with me each week so we could coordinate the project to re-start. At no time did I feel pressure from Massey to "hurry up" with the bat problem so they could finish. In the end after battling the rainy season, they finished up, and even picked up some additional work on the side of my house. It all looks great. VERY pleased with how Massey handled the project and the quality of the work looks great. Mortar and bricks match the rest of the house as much as it could- the brick on my house is not used anymore, so they got the best match. Will use Massey for any masonry going forward, and recommend them to others. Matt was very helpful through the process.

"

"Install went really welll. Service is above and beyond. I am very happy with the install and the service. They did every thing what I asked and above. Mike, the owner of the company, gave the estimate and matched the Hoff heating and cooling price and additionally taped the basement ducts joints for no cost. Fews days before the install Jerry came and inspected the work to be done and proposed how it needs to be done. Zoning the basement from the first floor system by adding a separate truck line is a complex install. Plus venting for kitchen and bathroom. I got estimates from may be 15 HVAC contractors and no one gave me more confidence and comfort than Jerry. He is the best!! All the technicians are really good and professional. For 3 or 4 days, they came in the morning, work through out the day and towards the end of the day they cleaned up the area. This is a great company, very good and talented people. Excellent customer service. I am going to refer them to my family and friends.
"

"We highly recommend Matterhorn. We had a very large chimney chase that had several small leaks around its edges. Chad removed the chase and chimney, worked with our plumbers to replace a water heater flue that also exited out of the chase structure, and rebuild our roof where the chase had been. The roof was rotted far more than he anticipated and it took him twice as long as was estimated. His prices are very reasonable and he did excellent work. Will definitely hire again for other exterior work."

"ductwork. GIven our concerns we brought in an outside architect spent several hours of detailed analysis and who felt the overall grade of the HVAC work was about a C, and the use of the duct work was more of a C minus. Also, this architect said the plans that Dawson Dodd used to defend their work were really not telling them exactly what height to run the ductwork, and he felt if Dawson Dodd was acting in our best interests they would have chosen a more efficient duct work route or at least called and given us some options that were more suitable for ceiling height. The max ceiling height in one office was reduced to about 7 foot 9 inches by the Dawson Dodd duct work and with the drop ceiling will probably be in the range of 7 foot 6 inches. The outside architect felt that with a bit of thinking, Dawson Dodd could have kept our ceiling height over 8 foot 6 inches and still accomplished the same goals. Thus, at this point, might consider Dawson Dodd for future work but will clearly be getting outside bids and opinions from other companies and will ask for a more detailed inspection of the plans prior to any future work and have an architect review the work at various time points to protect out interests. In fairness to them, we learned a lot from this job and the bottom line is you must do a careful inspection of plans prior to the work, and you must have on site inspections as the work progresses to protect your interests.
"

"Last fall I bought a house with a gas fireplace, and during the inspection it was noted the damper was blocked. The inspector thought that there was probably debris in the chimney causing the blockage. So I hired Absolute Clean to unblock and clean the chimney. They found that the blockage was caused not by debris but by a piece of mortar protruding from the masonry. In fact the chimney had probably never been used even though the house was 47 years old. So it turned out that there wasn't really a whole lot of chimney sweeping to do as far as build-up, but there was a little debris which they cleaned out, and they checked it to make sure that it was safe to use. They showed me how to turn it on safely and gave me some tips on positioning the logs, and where to buy gas logs if I wanted a different look. Very nice fellows.
"

"Excellent job. For years we've been plagued by moisture problems inside the house adjacent to the areas where the chimneys are located. We've had many and quot;expertsand quot; give their opinions and try various solutions, but the problem remained. The Clean Sweep guys explained how the cavity between the chimney and the liner needs either insulating or ventilation to avoid the moisture caused by the large thermal difference occurring between the hot liner and the cool chimney. They used the much cheaper method of ventilating as a first step. Their explanation makes sense and their professional approach was very much appreciated.
"
