"Excellent as this gentleman replaced our water heater and took the extra step and advised that the required gas valve was not up to code standards. He then changed out the valve in an expedient manner and provided a very reasonable price."

"They were very professional and trustworthy. They were in uniform and their trucks were labeled, you could tell that they were a professional organization. I could leave a key to my house and I trusted them to do the work while I was gone. They cleaned up after themselves. It was a multi part process where the floor needed to be redone and toilets needed to be put in so they were very flexible with scheduling."

"<p>We came home one evening to find water dripping through my bathroom ceiling.  My hot water heater was leaking and we went ahead and ordered a new one.  The water heater was on the far side of the attic, very difficult to get to.  When Mike of RotoRooter arrived, he went into the attic and carefully made his way across the attic on the beams.  He checked out the water heater and found that the line had sprung a leak.  He also checked out the water heater itself and found that there was nothing wrong with it and said that it was turning on and off and that the only thing that needed to be done was to fix the line.  He changed out both the hot and cold water lines to be on the safe side.  So far, so good.  Good communication about what he found with the water heater and gave me options as far as changing out the entire water heater or just the lines.  Would use again.</p> <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Scott, LA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
