Rational pricing model reflected his expertise. I received fixed-price quotes from other AC repair firms for adding refrigerant to my system. However, this makes no sense and I would warn people away from services that do. There are two different types of refrigerant and the costs for each are very different. The newer R410a refrigerant costs $4-$5 per pound, while the older R22 costs around $20/pound. By way of example, my 20-year old AC unit uses R22, which as of January 2020 is no longer made or imported into the U.S. My unit can hold up to 103 ounces of R22. So when a provider quotes a fixed price for a charge, they are doing so blindly (they can’t’ know how much you need without connecting directly to your AC). You could pick (based on lowest price) only to learn that what ever they put in your system is not enough for your unit to work effectively. Is your system broken, no! It just wasn’t charged enough. Nic charged flat fee for service call and then by the ounce for the R22 used for my unit. Turns out I needed 43 ounces. I would definitely use and recommend NixFix again!"
