"John did a great job in finding a leaking pipe as well as fixing it which was an additional job which he was called out to do. I called to have a garbage disposal installed and I discovered I had a leaking pipe the night before rather then having to reschedule for the leaking pipe he was able to do both jobs. Very professional and courteous, thank you"

"Gustavo from Escamilla plumbing is a pro thru and thru. I gave him a tough job that I wanted to tackle but didn't have the necessary tools or time to tackle. I had him relocate the water heater lines and install a tankless water heater, remove steel pipes and redo drain lines. The kicker for the water lines was access next to a furnace and new gas lines that needed to be run due to insufficient gas supply. During the project we found micky mouse water line taps that needed to be removed and the house water shutoff valve that failed to closed completely. Lots of unexpected work but he gave decent quotes to complete the job. He is quick, doesn't cut corners, and gets the job done. I wholeheartedly recommend him for project a homeowner wouldn't touch or doesn't have time to do. "

"It was the coldest part of the winter. They helped by replacing the sewer line, which required new pipes in the house and a whole new sewer line to be dug to connect with the city sewer. They were prompt and efficient under such cold circumstances. They were reasonable with their price and worked with us to make it possible. They have returned as the weather improved to make sure the land was leveled off and everything was ok. They recently helped our neighbor and she has the same glowing review."

"They were so punctual. Very communicative, knowledgeable and honest. I was surprised how much it cost, however, for what a small fix it ended up being. The majority of the bill was based on labor. The $300 did not include the cost of repairs on the dry wall(a separate person did that work and billed us separately). I would use them again because I know their work is reliable but I would be very nervous about how much they would charge."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Shepherd, MT

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
