"Cathy at HPHC worked to get us onto the schedule this week so that there would be no concerns with the heater failing while we had guests. Will arrived promptly at 8:00 am on Monday. He removed the old heater, modified the plumbing and installed the new heater. Pricing was competitive with 4 other quotes that we received but the selection of HPHC was based on the quality of the work they perform. We are very pleased."

"Gary, Edison and Gabe were wonderful to work with. Gary was very responsive and provided answers to our many questions. Edison and Gabe worked many long days and hard but our basement looks so neat and clean and the system works like a charm. We are planning on having Murphy's install new dryer vents to bring them up to code as well as replacing 3 outside vents that are rusted and not functioning well. Highly recommend Murphy's. we will have an annual service with them forever."

"Braga Brothers recently installed new heating and air conditioning in my Nantucket beach house. I chose this Cape Cod based provider over several Nantucket based providers, despite the distance from their base in Cape Cod. I had called a half dozen Nantucket-based providers and a dozen or so Cape Cod based providers. Only 3 of the Nantucket providers bothered to return our repeated calls and only 2 got around to giving us bids. Of the dozen Cape-based companies, only 6 returned our calls and only 2 others bid on the job. These other bidders ended up providing little detail or advice to help in decision-making. Instead others acted as though they were put off by any questions or requests I had to break out the numbers or even tell me which particular equipment was included in the price. Obviously that was exasperating. Braga also showed good faith by making the trip over to the island at their own expense, whereas others charged us up front for their bid and travel expenses. Their bid came in 20% cheaper than the Nantucket HVAC providers and included the advantage of providing us specific subcontracted costs of the electrician, which other bids did not. Despite the lower costs, from the beginning Braga provided me more personal service with quick response times to phones calls and emails. They also provided more detail on equipment costs and choices, various setup options, breakdown of costs of labor versus equipment. I was able to speak directly to both of the Braga brothers and several other employees. They were user friendly. Another advantage is they were very specific compared to others in giving a narrow, 3-day window to complete the job, while others were suggesting weeks of variance in their install schedule. In the end they got it done in a day and half, on budget. The job itself was always going to be difficult because of an older house with dated ductwork, old rusted equipment to remove and a tight crawlspace with a very tight entrance. Braga’s guys were able to dig out the crawlspace to work the equipment in at an angle and adapt the newer equipment to the older ductwork. They also coordinated well with our landscaping staff to install the outside condenser in a way that minimized changes and costs to existing landscaping and hydration works. I would highly recommend this team and you may contact me directly for any questions you have at surfsidehabitats at gmail."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Siasconset, MA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
