"Exactly as the same as the first time I air sealed my attic in my previous house. Last year when we decided to sell our house I was inspecting my house as I would have if I was purchasing it. I noticed a small (1/4") gap between the master bathroom vent fan grill and the ceiling. I could not adjust it. Upon further inspection I realize it was because the foam that was installed when my attic was air sealed had expanded creating the 1/4" gap. I had that work done two years prior by Houle Insulation. I contacted Arne and inquired if he had any suggestions. His only suggestion was that he would correct the problem. Two days later he had two workers in my attic correcting the issue. Just like the first time, they were prompt and cleaned up after the work. I offered to pay, he would not have it. He said he should have noticed when the job was originally completed two years prior. There was no discussion or haggling, he simply said he would correct it. As impressed as I was with the lower energy bill, I was more impressed with how he and his team comported themselves. Also my house was more comfortable because the temperature was more uniform within my house. This year when we moved into our new house, built in 1992, the first thing I did was call Arne to air seal the attic. My choice of whom to hire for air sealing my attic was a no brainer, Houle Insulation. They also performed a blower door test. They also sent in all the information required for me to receive an energy rebate from my utility company. The best recommendation I can make is that when I decided to air seal our new home the first person I called was Arne. He made a wise decision to correct what needed with correcting without any questions. He did what should have been done, and therefore he got my repeat business and I was happy to give my business to him!"

"We had insulation and other repairs done in our attic. The price was good and the job they did was great! We are going to definitely use the company for other projects."

"The results speak for themselves, the finished product is amazing. We did have some delays due to weather and material chances but Sam kept us well informed and was always in communication. We will definitely be using Sharpe Construction again in the future!"

"Very reasonably priced--the lowest out of 3 bids, and did a great job! Carl uses blown-in fiberglass instead of blown-in cellulose."

"I have had Snap Construction do insulation work for me twice in the last few years for my house and garage. Both times the crew was fast, clean, and careful with all of our furniture during the day while we were at work. They also took extra care to make sure nothing got dirty or dusty before covering it. They have been consistent with their service and quality, and I will call them for any other home improvement work I need."

"They did high quality work, but the price was quite high as well. We had a toilet seal replaced, which was expensive."

"It went fine, and they do their work quickly and efficiently.  From what I can tell, they are a reputable contractor who will hold up their end of the bargain.  I would work with them again.  That being said, I've relayed to them that there were a couple of things they could do on future jobs to improve their service:
1) Let the homeowner know when they are there and begin working.  They showed up and got right to work without ringing the doorbell or knocking on the door.  They also did not let us know when they were done, so we didn't know when it would be okay to lock up.
2) It would have been nice if they put up some plastic sheeting to contain dust when cutting into the foundation. Although they didn't create a ton of dust, that stuff is so incredibly fine that it's miserable to clean up. Had I known they weren't planning to hang up some plastic I would have strung it up myself to avoid that headache.
The city inspector came by to close out the permit and noted that they forgot to caulk along the exterior of the window and more foam should be used in the remaining block cavities. These really aren't tough for me to finish up, but they should have a checklist to run through before they leave the work site.

"It went well. One area was not done exactly as we thought it would be and Larry, the owner came out and it was changed the next day. We are very satisfied.

"AJ diagnosed the cause of our ceiling damage after we received widely different opinions from multiple estimators. He performed the most critical vent replacement the same day, and his crew was able to complete the remaining work a few days later. Very thorough and professional. We are happy with their responsiveness and approach to the work."
