"Extremely well! I used Jason Griggs and his small but scrappy crew to repaint the interior of a home I sold just prior to purchasing this new home. They did a tremendous job for me then, at a reasonable price, so I enlisted them for this larger, more difficult job. There was wallpaper to be removed and painted over, numerous drywall repairs, caulking, and generally a lot of prep work before the actual painting could begin. They also had to work in two different phases -- prep and paint the rooms that were not being remodeled, and wait for a couple months while other rooms were being remodeled, then come back and prep and paint those rooms. All in all, this spanned a period from October to January. They did their usual outstanding job! I am so happy I was able to secure their services again. Jason is a former engineer who pays keen attention to detail. He really takes pride in doing a high quality, thorough job and will do whatever it takes to walk away with a satisfied customer. He has a great customer service attitude and often agrees when you point a blemish out, saying they will quickly take care of it. He and his crews are very trustworthy. They earned my trust on my first job at the old house -- I let them come and go as they needed, while I was away at work. Same in this case; I allowed them full rein of the house, and did not do anything special to put things away. They really are that trustworthy! It's nice when you feel that trust with a service provider. They do quality work, aren't happy unless you're happy, will do whatever it takes to make you happy, treats your home and belongings with respect, and makes you feel like you're the customer and you come first! I cannot recommend them enough. If I were you and need some painting done, I'd call The Griggs Company. I know I will contact them for all my painting needs in the future."

"The septic tank was pumped satisfactorily. The problem we had was that our gate and latching mechanism were damage by his employee doing the work. We were told that the gate was damaged. We called Mr Andrews after we discovered that gate was damaged. Mr Andrews told me that his employees were independent contractors and were responsible for any damages that occur. Mr Andrews asked me to send him pictures and a description of the damage. He said he would have his independent contractor contact me to resolve the issue. To date we have not heard from his independent contractor or Mr Andrews to resolve the issue The company does a good pumping your septic tank but doesn't take care of any damages that they cause. "My daughter just purchased a 10 year old home. The first time they tried to use the outside spigot, the water shot inside the basement instead of outside. Since they had a home owner's warranty, they scheduled repair with the recommended service provider, who was Joe Lay and sons. As a long time Angie's List user, I was a little concerned after reading mixed reviews about this provider. However, we had nothing but a positive experience. The appointment was scheduled within 24 hours. The technician stated it was a pretty straightforward issue and a fairly simple fix given the basement is not finished. The repair was completed within 30 minutes. He took the time to show us the broken pipe and instruct my daughter on how to prevent this from happening in the future. (Previous owners probably didn't remove hoses in winter). We then found out that the homeowner's warranty doesn't cover this type of issue (figures), even though it was through no fault of the new homeowner. If a claim is covered under the warranty, the homeowner is responsible for $100 deductible. The usual cost for this type of repair was $ 175 for the labor and $50 for the copper replacement pipe. Since the job had been fairly easy and not covered under the policy, they gave us a discount and charged $150 which was the cost of usual deductible plus the parts needed for repair. We were very thankful for the price break. The technician seemed knowledgeable and was very courteous. I would not hesitate to work with this company in the future.

"Mike Delaney was great. I believe he could repair anything. He removed the rotting wood and replaced it around my windows. He redesigned some window sills that had lost their forward slant and were actually directing rainwater toward the house rather than away. He was environmentally friendly and financially responsible by allowing me to keep my windows and just repair what needed to be done. While here, he kindly reattached molding that had fallen on the screened in porch and installed my new retractable screen door and nailed down a loose board on the deck. He worked diligently for 3+ days. He repaired 15 window frames and 1 door frame."
