"I usually go to another shop but they were busy and couldn't get my car in for at least a full week. I had an oil leak and was quite sure it was the oil sending unit. Yes it was, but Andy's wanted to fix a whole lot more than I felt was necessary. They recommended putting in a whole new engine. I was told the engine has a knock and because of that they wouldn't guarantee anything they did if I didn't put in a new engine. I told them it always had a knock in the cold and after the car warms it goes away and the car is too old to be worth installing a new engine. I am sure the work they did was done well, but I really felt like they were trying to get us to do more than they needed to. Also the estimate wasn't ever really fully done. My experience was that this would cost this but we might find more. They also insisted on a test for the cooling fan that was $85 but turns out was just fine. At this point, I said just fix the manifold gasket and the oil sending unit and I understand that there will be no warranty. Less then one week after repairs the power steering pump bearing burnt out. Reason was fairly obvious: the line to it was not tighten back up, it leaked fluid therefore burning out the pump bearing. I didn't even try to go to them. This was I fix I could do myself. The shop I usually frequent would never have treated me this way. I suppose next time I'll wait to get in there."

"I contacted Citywide on Monday afternoon, and Ryan was able to schedule the work for the next morning after I called. He showed up at exactly the agreed on time, calling in advance. He was very professional, removing boots and using a drop cloth. He provided an estimate for the work we thought would be necessary and charged in line with that estimate (in fact, slightly less due to the pipe blockage being less involved than it might have been). I would say the prices were reasonable for the time and work involved. I would definitely use Ryan and Citywide Plumbing's services again based on this experience."

"The plumber was very thorough and polite. He completed the work quickly and left the worksite clean. Once he was done, he explained what he did and how to maintain it. The price was very fair and I would hire Dana Hoagland Plumbing again without hesitation. He also practiced excellent social distancing, wore a mask, and put on new gloves when he was done and needed to exchange paper work."

"Mark Moengen performed the work and his craftsmanship is truly first-rate. He was able to provide necessary structural modifications to secure the valve assembly and had us back in operation promptly. I called late afternoon for an appointment and Mark was at our house the following morning at 8:30. Mark has many years of experience and it really shows. I highly recommend Mark and his company - this is the only plumber that I will deal with going forward."

"This is the second time I have used them.  I am not sure about the exact date they came but it was in late Dec or early Jan.  I had a clog in the basement shower drain and Rick took care of it.  Since I am stuck paying for an hour anyway, I made use of the time and had a list of some other random plumbing and heating (hot water heating) questions.  Rick was again professional and helpful."

"Jim gave me an estimate over the phone. He arrived early for our appointment and finished the work in exactly the time he had predicted. The bill was exactly what he had quoted. He even took special care in opening the shower wall so I wouldn't have to do any re-tiling. It was an excellent experience, and I would definitely recommend Center Point Plumbing."

"Chris came and provided an estimate, but after turning the valve off fully (it had not been completely shut off by my husband() he initially thought maybe the shut off valve was working, and did not need to be replaced. He not only did not charge me for this, but he also took time to answer my questions about some future-planned plumbing projects we have, and pointed out some things that will save us money in the future. When, after he left, the darn thing started dripping again, Chris came back within a week, installed the new valve, etc., and charged exactly what his initial estimate had been. I could not have been happier with his work! <br />"

"When we called Marsh Heating and discussed the problem a representative offered to come out and assess the situation for no charge. He came a few days later, removed some debris from the pipe/chimney stack area and suggested enlarging the exhaust on the water heater. A service man came the following week and replaced the out take exhaust. He also replaced the furnace exhaust pipes since they were older. This resolved the problem. We have used Marsh Heating several times. They give good service and explain things clearly."

"Very honest and reputable. After getting a furnace repair estimate from another company (which was far beyond what we had budgeted and seemed a bit suspect), we called Genesis for a 2nd opinion/estimate. Mike came out for no cost and examined the unit. He indicated that the repairs recommended by the first company were unnecessary, that he would recommend just waiting to see how the unit functions after the flame sensor was cleaned (which was done by the first company during their assessment to "tide us over until the parts came in") and if it failed again, he believed simply replacing that sensor would solve the problem (at a savings of $700 from the initial bid). He walked out the door collecting no money, answering many questions, and offering some great advice. I will absolutely call him first for any heating/cooling needs in the future--this industry needs more honest people like Mike. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Silver Lake, MN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
