My husband who is retired from many years in construction and home building said,” This is old world craftsmanship rare in today’s market.” The owner, Nick, arrived for our estimate on time and the project completed according to time lines. Our existing cabinets had to be removed and relocated , a frame out around our washer and dryer was custom made to hold the weight of a quartz top and a custom side cabinet was designed to fit into a tight space for storing laundry hamper and baskets. We had no left over clean up all the install was meticulously done. Nick was on site to oversee and support the project with his expertise, he also adjusted a main entrance door not included in our price package. Crown molding was added to cabinets for a finished look at his suggestion and also chair rail molding was installed in my breakfast nook . He repaired an existing kitchen door hanging down due to a broken screw which was lodged in the frame ( Also not included in the original project and at no additional charge) We were so pleased with the finished project , we are adding this company to our home owners association list for preferred contractors. We recently purchased a 2nd home on Lake James with an exterior that is 100% cedar.  The exterior was in serious need of cleaning and re-staining.  It had not been maintained; and, had a significant amount of mold staining and several areas of the trim had the original finish peeling off.

We contracted with Mike and Crystal to prep and re-stain the exterior of our home.  Throughout the process, Mike demonstrated thoroughness, competency and responsibility.  Mike and Crystal took personal responsibility to ensure they delivered a quality product.  Mike kept his commitments and did not compromise his work product even when faced with the stripping process taking more time than he expected.  He completed the project per the schedule he committed.

Mike demonstrated a high attention to detail in the finishing process and ensured the project was completed to my satisfaction.  The home looks beautiful...we could not be happier.

I solicited bids from several paint contractors and evaluated several before selecting Mike.  His pricing was very competitive versus several other contractors; but, I never observed where Mike cut corners.

"CertaPro power washed the exterior woodwork, porches and patios, and painted all exterior surfaces that required it. They matched the color perfectly and were prompt and courteous. My only complaint is that when they cleaned up afterwards, they spilled something that killed a small area of grass in the yard. However, I would hire them again - the pricing was very reasonable. Our house is 2 stories, and there are a lot of windows (42) which needed the wood around them painted."

I renovate homes in charlotte and recently started work in Greenville.    

Being new in town, I didn't have a network of go to contractors, but use angies list all the time so found John here and looked like the right fit.  Im glad I did.

He has performed a wide variety of tasks, but went above and beyond on the floor install.    I was planning on doing this part myself but got backed up and would have slowed down the overall project.    John flexed his schedule and agreed to put the floors in.

Very high quality work and extremely reasonable price.

Over the years I've found there are two types of contractors.  Ones that only care about the money in their pocket and the ones that care about their work and their customers as they know over the long term good customer relationships are key.

John is clearly in the latter.   He does outstanding work, knows everything about everything   re: home renovations/construction and doesn't gouge you when little unexpected details pop up that weren't covered in contract.

He also helped me source the materials which I bought myself which saved me money.  Always looks for ways to get things done the right way but most cost effective method as well.  (example.  got quotes for $7.000+ to replace windows.  When I told him I was replacing the windows, he helped me source the best window myself and he did the install.  Saved me about $3,000 over the leading window installers in town)

I'd strongly recommend giving John a call for your project.  You wont be disappointed

"I'll start by saying I chose Matt because of the reviews here on Angie's List and the photographs of his work on his web site. Matt doesn't come cheap, and we did have significantly lower bids for this job. We felt that these built-ins were going into our great room and needed to look good, like a piece of furniture. We felt confident that Matt could deliver the quality craftsmanship we wanted for this project, and decided the extra cost was justified. Matt suggested a bench under each window with storage and doors below and a Cherry top (seat) on the benches. We decided on a scribed fit against the fireplace, which meant Matt would have to cut the bookshelves to mate with the rock fireplace. Matt shared his plan to build the bookshelves in his shop, described the materials being used and the process he would use to paint the exposed surfaces, gave us a rough date for completion and assured us we would be happy with the result. On installation day, he showed up with his partner Josh and each took a side of the fireplace to work on. They spent the entire day installing our built-ins, and even had to finish up a few details on the following day. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the result. The built-ins look great, and have that quality furniture look we hoped for. The sprayed on lacquer finish is awesome and durable. What an improvement in the room!"
