"Overall I thought it went well. I wished it was complete. By complete I mean that I wished he would have taken care of the drain pipe leading out of the house by hooking up an adaptor and a 25 foot hose to the pipe that leads to the outside of my house. Now I have run to menards and get this figured out. The pipe that leads out of my house is not threaded and I can't simply screw in the adaptor that comes with the hose. When I pay for a job I don't expect that I need to have to chase around and finish it. With this being said he did a nice job setting up the pump. Its very neat and orderly. I would hire Steve again, but this time I would do a walk thru with him to make sure that your both on the same page as it relates to your expectations."

"Jackie showed up and diagnosed the issue. She was very thorough in making sure she had the proper diagnosis of the problem rather than guessing on replacing parts. She replaced the gas valve. Very efficient. I was impressed with her ability to fix a furnace that is probably older than she is. I would definitely do business with them again and would recommend them very highly."

"It was replaced. It took 4 hours. We were charged the same amount for installation as we had been charged the first time, 3 years prior. This was legal but it seemed wrong. We were sent a letter on their letterhead signed by their secretary and owner saying it was legal. I have all the documentation on file. By coincidence representatives from the City came to check our furnace as a new one was installed and saw the water heater had been installed and nobody had called to have the City inspect it as legally required. I told them that Hander installed it. The City called Hander and Hander representatives DENIED HAVING INSTALLED IT. They did not affix their company label, they wrote the date of installation in black marker on the water heater. However, we had the receipt and I had my letters of complaint and their letters of response with their secretary and owners signatures and I forwarded them to the City Inspectors. I was told that Hander was fined for not having the inspection done and my research on the Rheem parts that they use was very disappointing. (I apologize if I have the year of installation incorrect, it might have been 2016 and the price might have been $300)"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Sioux Falls, SD

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
