"As far as the roof itself, Jim and crew did an excellent job.  They worked very hard and ended up putting more labor into the job without charging, such as replacing more decking (we paid for the extra wood).  They cleaned up well when considering the mess the project causes. The quality of the roof and underlayment is very good.
Jim is not good at communication.  He was difficult to reach for first contact and this problem continued throughout.  There were additional jobs he was to perform for us (inside and outside of the house) which he said he would quote on.  After the roof was complete, it was as though he disappeared.  The gutters clogged due to leftover material from the old roof removal and the attic fan seemed to not be functioning correctly.  We made at least 4 calls/emails with no response.  The last time we tried he answered and said he would get right back to us but never did.
Although he did a great job on the roof, the fact that he would not communicate afterward after saying he would do the additional jobs we had was very disappointing.  We delayed getting these jobs done while waiting for his response and this has caused us further difficulties.  We feel we can no longer trust J. P. May Contracting and will not recommend him to anyone.
