We found Cary on Angie's List with overall great feedback on jobs he had done so we called him in for an estimate. Despite being very busy, he made the time to come over on a Saturday morning. He had previously dropped by and assessed the damage from the outside but needed to see it from the inside to ensure he could judge it accurately. After 15 minutes, our fears were realized and he said he would need to remove the cedar impression siding and remove the roof and replace it with a different system because the pitch wasn't steep enough. 
Within 48 hours, he provided a quote for his crew to come out and get the work done in a single day which was completely reasonable. He completed the work (guaranteed) as promised and left the site immaculate. He took pictures of the issue, of job progress and of the completed job. He mentioned he went around and filled some other issues he noticed while he was waiting for his crew to wrap up, no charge at all. He then discounted the quoted, agreed price 5% for angie's list deal I wasn't even aware of. Have you ever heard of a contractor accept less than an agreed price? Me neither.
Angie's List is a great resource for people to share experiences. I think the contractors who are honest and reasonable should be applauded too. We have been on the receiving end of some really lousy service so this was a new experience having someone do what they promised to do. Cary and his crew are the best in Monmouth County. We already have him pricing out finishing a storage space and will use him to build our deck in the spring. I cannot recommend Cary enough and you can reach me through Cary if you'd like to see his work firsthand.

"Roger visited my apt and agreed to do the work for $1500. That was to remove the shower floor, re-set it and tile. He also agreed to re-caulk the walls since some of the old grout was cracking. The entire lower row of wall tiles in my shower would need to be removed in order to remove the floor tiles in the shower. I agreed to buy those wall tiles separately from the $1500 fee. I paíd 1/3 of the fee as a deposit. Another 1/3 hall-way thru and another 1/3 when finished. Roger assured me the work would be completed in 3 days, and it was. If he agreed to be in my apt at a certain time, he was always punctual. He did a great job and was very friendly and professional. I honestly wish I'd hired Roger 2 years ago when my bathroom was renovated. I was very happy with the price, the work that was done and getting to know Roger a little bit. I would hire him again in the future and would recommend him to anyone.
