"These guys came out to Edisto Island to clear my wooded lot for residential construction. They installed a gravel covered culvert at the road and removed trees and stumps. They also hauled them off. They did a great job at a fair price and timely manner. These guys really know what they are doing and I highly recommend them. I will definitely use their services in the future."

"We had them install this unit in our attic and then we went on vacation. The installers did not know how to install pvc correctly and it leaked. Ruining the fan, ceiling paint, and carpet in the room below. I called them and they came out to repair it, but the person in charge did not bother to speak to me and simply left when finished. This was beyond rude, and called the main office to complain. The individual who was here never apologized to me, instead he called my husband and apologized to him! They only offered to give us 500 dollars toward our gas bill. This room was trashed. <br /> I would not use them again for any installation requiring pvc work. <br /> That said, they come out to fill our tank promptly. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Smoaks, SC

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
