"They did a great and neat job overall. One detail that they did not catch was a drain pipe that went up two floors and came right into the basement. When they disconnected things, the drain pipe dropped down and pulled away from the vanity in our bedroom. We did not discover this until we had water running out on our hardwood floor from the vanity. They came out and fixed the issue as well as replacing our vanity. Attention to detail would have been my only issue. Check their work. <br />"

"SINGLE BEST PLUMBER I'VE EVER HAD. <br /> Had these guys put my water heater. When he came, he was able to put it in in just 2 hours, including taking out the old gas waterheater and putting 220v in with an electrician he sub-contracted <br /> He gave me the option of purchasing my water heater myself! Most plumbers would go get that and mark up the price on it! He gave me a bid for him supplying the unit i wanted or me supplying it so i could choose! AMAZINGLY PROFESSIONAL. <br /> Super fast, super reasonable, super professional. These guys are doing all plumbing for me from now on. <br />"

"They were quick to submit a bid and quick to start work.  They finished their work quickly.  We had a time limit with relatives coming to help with the basement remodel, so this was of utmost importance.  The cold air return is now quitter as desired.  They were neat, clean, and easy to work with. <br /> The price was 60% higher than a second bid, which came to late to consider.  They charged $50 and $45 / hour for labor.  They had to rework the main cold air return because it extended beyond the wall they were told and shown would exist after they were done.  This rework time was likely included in their final bill.  They used the space between the rafters as ducts instead of running new duct work, which was ok.  However, part of the extra rework involved no longer using one of those rafter ducts, which exposed shoddy workmanship:  They had not removed a board between the rafters that restricted at least half of its air flow.  They also closed off 10 unused feet of that rafter run, even though most of it was completely blocked by a board between the rafters.  I haven't seen inside the two rafters that were used since they are blocked off, but was told that one of them is completely open and the other one is half blocked, which should be ok. <br /> They moved some plumbing to an inconvenient location for our later finish work, which may have to be redone (by someone else at added cost).  To replace two copper pipes with Pecks in a different location was a $480 add on.  The pecks could have gone to a location that would not have interfered with the later work if they just chosen the other side of a large pipe that can not be moved. <br /> They were asked to raise and anchor an existing rectangular duct to make clearance for a future ceiling, which they did, but they only anchored one side. The side they didn't anchor was too low so that work had to be completely redone by me. <br /> We were told they would work Monday, perform a different job Tuesday, and finish up the job Wednesday. After nobody showed up by Wednesday noon I called and they had rescheduled my job for the next Tuesday.  They revised their schedule and finished the job Thursday, which was before the relatives arrived.  This was a misunderstanding, as they thought the job was ready for my relative visit when they left Monday, and the final finish would be scheduled at a later time. <br />"

"Noticed leak on our basement floor coming from the kitchen sink drain line, contacted Breese Plumbing and explained the problem, they scheduled an appointment for early the next week, however they had an opening come up on Friday morning and were able to come out then. Bill was able to cut out the old pipe that had a small split in it and replaced with a new one, then he replace the dishwasher shutoff valve (I had asked him to do when he finished the drain line), cleaned up and was on his way. We have been using them for the last several years and are happy with their service. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Solon, IA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
