"I was not expecting $600 more when they had to come back and finish after I added the shiplap. I should of gotten more estimates. Almost $3000 for two water lines install a sink and toilet, plus running to drain pipe"

"They determined that the diagnostics couldn't be run until they put in a new encoder motor, because it wasn't registering on their equipment. They were very fair about it. They said they if the motor wasn't the root cause, they wouldn't charge me for it. Ultimately it was the motor and a switch. Overall I'm very happy with how fast they were, and how much they communicated with me. The only issue I have is, in my case, the cost for the replacement of these two parts seem very high. In researching the issue, prior to taking it in, I found replacement parts for around $200-$300. So I think the cost to replace those two parts should have been cheaper. If the invoice broke it down more, I would be more inclined to accept it."

"Excellent work, well-chosen unit by him (he personally tests everything he sells). The unit has a replaceable head, so if that goes bad, you don't have to replace the whole unit. <br /> Another excellent job by A2Z: fast, clean, reliable, professional. Just incredibly professional and super knowledgeable about what he sells. <br /> All my plumbing work goes to them."

"I called company on Tuesday and service call was scheduled that Thursday morning. He arrived on schedule, checked out why air conditioner wasn't cooling, found problem, fixed problem and was done within 1.5 hours. Pleasant and seemed very knowledgeable.  <br /> <br /> <br />"

"I got the owner and had a plumber out within the hour. He fixed the leak and upgraded the installation to include a turn-off valve at the bathtub, meaning that the next time, I can just turn off the water at the tub."

"Project involved cutting into basement floor to connect bathroom fixtures to sewer line, removal of existing walls and framing the bathroom and family room space, all plumbing and electrical.  Ceramic tile installed in bathroom, drywall and paint, plumbing and electrical fixtures.  Entire project met local and state codes.  Licensed bonded electricians and plumbers were subcontracted.  Budget was adhered to and all work was completed to satisfaction, meeting and exceeding expectations.  I would recommend this contractor."

"They were great. They were here when they said they would be here. They gave me a very fair price on the unit. They were excellent people to work with. I was very happy with them. I would recommend them to anybody with similar needs. They were extremely polite and that has not been my experience when it comes to dealing with repair people. They were considerate. They stuck to their word. They gave me the estimate and looked at my situation. Unfortunately, I live in a house that has a crawlspace which is fairly deep and that’s where the furnace goes. It wasn’t an easy installation for them and the week that they chose to do the job was very humid as well. However, they did it and they did an extremely good job. They couldn’t have been more gracious in the circumstances they were working with."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Solon, IA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
