"Inspection of a previously installed sump pump system (primarily the sump pump). Inspection found that it seized up and wouldn't have functioned. Replacement made - and very fortunately - since when the pump is needed, it IS needed. It wouldn't have been good to have a flooded basement or have an upcoming flooded basement."

Customers say: True professional

"My house was built in 1963 and the washer water shut off was installed then. Recently it had stated leaking so I haired Carmichael to replace it. He called me prior to coming out and had me send him a picture of the valve. When he arrived he had the replacement valve and new hoses because he noticed that the connections on the existing hoses were showing signs of rust. A complete and competent job. I also had him replace the garbage disposal and this job was too done completely and competently."

"The many outstanding reviews that Clean Water Man Inc has received can easily be attributed to the honesty, integrity and professionalism of the company's owner Ted Mullen. If, like me, you research the many different manufacturers of water softening systems, you'll read so many varied opinions and claims on what are the best systems that it becomes both confusing and troubling as to which system to purchase. Ted cuts through all the hype without disparaging any competitor. He explains the product and function in simple, logical and practical terms, and without attempting to give himself any advantage. In the final analysis, the advantage is actually dealing with Ted. It's still early in the game, but Ted installed what thus far has been a 1st class system, including a code required dry well, for the same or lower price than what several other prominent companies were asking just for the water softening system."

"Sean examined our old pump and explained what was wrong; after 30 years, ball bearings are worn out . He reviewed the options: installing a similar model, replacing the cellar pump with a submersible pump, or a submersible pump with fraking. We opted for #2. The crew arrived on time and finished the job professionally and in about 3 hours. Sean arrived to check on the progress partway through. We went over how long to flush the well to remove the chlorine shock. <br /> Although it has taken a while for the chlorine to disappear, everything else is fine. The water pressure is vastly improved. The specially ordered new well cover arrived this week, so the job is complete. Thank you Sean!"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Somers, CT

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
