"I switched to Clay's last Fall, after I got frustrated with the largest HVAC contractor in our area.  I could not be happier.  After 27 years of home ownership, Clay's is the nicest, most responsive and highest quality HVAC contractor I have ever used.  In the course of two service calls from me (my first two, so I was a total stranger for the first one) they have really impressed me.  After the first repair, I thought maybe it was a fluke, but they just did it again!  Here are my observations:
1.  They are friendly when you call.  They seem glad you called.  Even when it was my first call.
2.  They schedule a service call quickly.
3.  The service tech shows up when they promised, or before.
4.  The service tech is friendly.  He seems glad to be there to help.
5.  He does the work when they said, which is usually right away.  If it has to be rescheduled, the tech tells you why, and he seems kind of apologetic.
6.  The service tech is skilled; he does not have to show up with an apprentice or other helpers unless they are needed.
7.  The service tech does great work; every fix has been perfect.
8.  They do not try to exaggerate the problem, and they don't try to up-sell you "repairs" that you don't need.
9.  They clean up the mess when they're done.
10. They bill you a fair price for the work.
I know I sound like a commercial for these guys, or a shill for the owners, but I'm not -- that's really the way I feel.  These guys are just the best, and their service techs seem to be as nice as the people you talk to in the office.  I can usually find something to complain about, but Clay's has impressed me twice now, and they deserve a shout-out.  I am totally satisfied.

"From the estimate process until final product finished today, we could not be happier with BQ Initially was quoted a 2 day process to complete our Aquastop waterproofing system and sump pump replacement, Steve, Curtis, Pedro, and Josh arrived as promised at 7:30 and completed the job by 1:30. They explained the entire process and updated us throughout. They were very professional, efficient, and polite. Everything was explained about the new system and cleanup has the basement back to pre construction condition. We highly recommend BQ Basements and Concrete!"

"Chris and his assistant James arrived on time as planed. They started to work as soon as they arrived. Chris reviewed with me the complete job. He estimated the work would take between 3 or 4 hours and in was done in 3.5 hours. I felt the work was completed with high quality of craftsmanship and care. I would recommend their work to my friends."

"Firstly, I should say Bob arrived exactly on schedule for the initial review and estimate.

We got three estimates (including Rightway) and Bob's solution was the most thorough and even accommodated placing the sump pump in a position that allowed us to keep our base cabinets in the laundry room.

Thanks to Angie's List, all three providers were professional, each having a unique remedy.

Bob scheduled our work for less than a week after we recontacted him and signed the contract.  That's amazing.  The others were 2 and 3 weeks out or couldn't give an estimated time for scheduling the work.

I think it's important to mention that Rightway (Bob) was the only provider who offered both a lifetime warranty on the work AND the pump.  That is huge.  However, all three did offer (1) transference of their specific guarantee.  Therefore, if we sell our home, the guarantee could be transferred to the new owners.  Again, this is huge.

On the day of the work, Rightway sent Bernie to our home.  Again, right on schedule.  When I tell you Bernie was polite, professional, and an extremely hard worker, that's an understatement.  He introduced himself, shook my hand and began work.  He reiterated the plan and walked me through it step by step before beginning.  He saw one possible challenge and said he would think about how to address it as he was working toward that step.  Thinking and developing solutions on the spot shows me Bernie is well versed in his trade.  Throughout the process, Bernie would dispatch me to explain the step he just finished and the step he was starting.  He kept me informed throughout.  I am not a hoverer when work is being done on my home.  However, I am interested and was pleased he kept me involved.  It helped me to understand the process.

Rightway sent other men to the job as well to handle various stages of the work.  They too were hard workers.  And, when they finished their responsibilities, Rightway had them off to another job site and another project.  This tells me Bob knows how to manage his resources.  There was no down time.  Even when I ordered Bernie a large pizza, he didn't eat it until the work was done and the site cleaned.  This is hard work.  Nothing easy about it.  But Bernie exemplifies everything good about the working class in this country; hardwork, dedication, resourcefulness and professionalism.

We haven't had any rain (go figure) since the work was done.  However, given the overall experience with Rightway, we are not dreading the rainstorm.  We invite it!

We will send an update once we get rain and let you know how we faired.

"Went well to this point of replacing parts. Then the United needed to have a system leak test and then needed freon put in pump. This was refused by Choice warranty. We were left with a partial repair and a heat pump not able to do it's job."

"I definitely recommend Kevin Anderson Well Drilling! They are like a well oiled machine, from the top to the bottom, everyone knew their job, they worked hard, they were respectful of our home by changing clothes before coming in to work on inside pump hookup. They were prompt and always returned phone calls within 15 min. Very professional!!! We would give them a 5 star rating out of 5!!"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Somers Point, NJ

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
