I had another company come in for an estimate and they wanted 3 times more money and much more invasive plan. The Basement Guys told me that it was not necessary to do all that and also provides a lifetime warranty. They were very efficient, thorough and very professional. "We were looking for a carpenter to add crown molding, base molding and moldings around doors and windows in our house as we are remodeling. We saw other good reviews for ACA Handyman on Angie's List and gave them a call. They answered our call, made an appointment and came early to the appointment! All things I have not had other do in the past. They were able to get measurements and a quote during the initial  appointment and we decided to move forward. <br /> <br />We had existing crown molding we were tying into in our hallway and dining room and the ACA Handymen were able to do so without being able to tell! They were on time each day, and although it took an extra day to complete, it worked out fine. We also had them hang a new door to an existing door frame and it looks wonderful. They had to widen the door hinges and added a door handle. There was one split in the molding on the window, but our painter was able to patch it with no problems and you can't tell it was <br /> <br />even there. <br /> <br />We are extremely happy with the outcome of moldings. We wish we would have known about them sooner to do other work in the <br /> <br />house! We will continue to use them on other projects and strongly recommend ACA Handyman to others! <br /> <br />"

"I contracted with Shield. Roofing to do the roof and siding.  The roof  portion has been completed. The roofers were efficient and courteous and I'm pleased with the job. "We started using John at first to roof our garage, just to see how he worked out and attention to details. He did a fine job. Next I had him do our upstairs bathroom, gave him a key to our house so he could do to the bath while we went on a cruise.With the latest job he did the downstairs bath. The only problem was I had my brother do the electric and John had to redo it as my brother put the electrical outlet too high. <br /> I don't have any problems with John. He does good work, I just wish I had more money to bring him back in to do my basement. <br /> He installed tiles in the kitchen which goes into a small nook that we use for our computer room and then into the bathroom. He had to gut the bathroom then add new plumbing and move some old plumbing to accomodate the new locations for commode and sink. Since this was a porch at one time, one of the walls behind the plaster board still had the old house siding on it. He had to pull that our which turned out to be quite a job, but he was able to manage it. He used our basement to cut the tiles (with our permission), since it was December and cold as heck outside. My house was built in 1923 so we have cracked walls and floors that are not level. It has been 2 1/2 years and there are no problems with the work he did. We did the upstairs bathroom probably 2 years prior to that and there are no problems with it. He also installed a shut off value for the upstair bathtub, which was never there and that was quite a job as the plumbing upstairs for the bath is behind a wall, he cut it down enough to get to the plumbing to install the value and did a nice job on the walls, floors and trim. <br />"
