"I purchased a Big Deal coupon that provided 6 hours of handyman services. Noel, the handyman, and I had a difficult time connecting in the beginning (Noel was swamped with people cashing in on the Big Deal offer and I was getting ready to have a baby). I emailed multiple times and he and I played phone tag for a few weeks. Once I had a little more availability, I worked with his helpful scheduler to define the services I needed performed and get an appointment. He arrived on time and got to work quickly. I needed exterior trim painted and while the task was not difficult, I did not have a tall enough ladder to reach the area. I provided the materials; Noel provided the tall ladder and the labor. He caulked the new trim and painted it as well as touching up some of the other trim along the roof-line. The second service I had requested was hanging a porch swing. After brainstorming for a while (and drilling a few test holes), we determined that without dismantling the porch ceiling, we were unable to determine where the joists were to hang the swing from. Since I didn't have anything else for him to do, Noel credited the unused hours from my Big Deal purchase to future work. i just need to prioritize down my to-do list for him.
Noel is a down-to-earth guy. He was easy to work with and eager to make sure I was satisfied as a client. He recognizes his limitations (wouldn't install a new light/fan fixture where the wiring was not already in place) and seems like he'd be handy for projects that require some extra brawn, extra hands, or an extra tall ladder. He has an attention for detail that would serve well for aesthetic projects as well. I look forward to having him back to help out on additional projects.

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
