"Gabe came by and viewed the utility room and listened while I explained what I hoped to accomplish - in order of priority: increase space in utility room, replace 15 year old water heater and non-functional softener and address some plumbing issues (pin hole gas valve leak). He took pictures and brought them back to his team to discuss and called that very evening to discuss possibilities. I had a talk with Nate who was stronger in the softener and technical aspects the next day and we discussed possible solutions. In the end, we decided that the more expensive option of a tankless (we had considered a tankless years prior as well with them and a competitor) was the more cost-effective solution. I was also very pleased with the professional, friendly and efficient installation service. Clean and quiet (within reason; they did drill a couple of holes through our brick wall), quick and considerate (the broke a part of my washing machine sitting the process so ordered a replacement part right away and they will come and install tomorrow)"

"Shaun and Steve from Boevaag Plumbing called/texted to let me know that they were running ahead of schedule. This worked out great and they were able to start about an hour before the estimated starting time. On an outside spigot that was leaking Shaun showed me how one nut just needed tightening. Leak gone. I had a valve that ran to the kitchen refrigerator. I assume this valve was likely added by the previous homeowner, as it was unfortunately placed after the shutoff valve for one of the outside spigots (so when I shut it off for the winter, no water to the fridge). I had them move the refrigerator valve (they put in a new one) before the outside shutoff valve. A shutoff valve for another outside spigot wouldn't fully shut off. They replaced both of the shutoff valves with much better handle valves (rather than the knob valves that were there). The pipes to the water softener needed to be tweaked to line up with the new softener. They did that, hooked up the new softener, ran it though all of its cycles and showed me how to use it. Shaun also gave me advice on maintaining the unit. The main waste pipe had a joint that had failed, Steve and Shaun replaced the necessary pieces and everything looks nice and sealed once again. The guys took a little under three hours to get my long list of items accomplished. They were both professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I felt the price charged was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend Boevaag Plumbing and will most certainly use them again."

"In 2013 we started investigating the replacement of our water heater. It was 20 years old but it was not having problems (yet). We wanted to try to avoid having a hot water problem in the future so we started the replacement investigation process. I called several contractors and got competitive bids but decided to put it off until 2014. Late this winter (20140 ) I noticed water on top of the water heater with some dripping down the side so we knew our time with this water heater was about up. I called John at Northern Plumbing again. He remembered our conversation the previous year. He was near us, very straight forward, and he made me comfortable with his experience level and confidence in phone conversations. He answered all my questions and he quoted the same price again for removal an replacement. We agreed on a date to do the job. Without prompting John promised that we would have hot water from the new hot water heater on the replacement date. This was expected but reassuring to hear. Chuck was the plumber assigned to the job, He came out to inspect the area in the basement where the work needed to be done. He addressed my questions and issues regarding access and removal of the old water heater. Chuck determined the job would require a new water shut off valve, an upgraded gas valve to meet building code, and required disconnecting existing furnace gas line to allow for removal of the existing heater. He quoted an additional $150 for these items. Chuck needed to leave to get the new water heater from the supplier since my unit had to be used for a previous job. Chuck returned shortly and started to work. He removed his boots on many trips in and out and protected the carpets with tarps when removing the old water heater. The work went well and the workmanship was excellent. He got the job done start to finish in about 4 hours. As John promised we had hot water again that evening. The new water heater continues to work great. I would recommend Northern Plumbing in the future for similar work. I received the City Inspection paper work yesterday so all I have to do is schedule the city to come out and inspect the work and this job will be finished. Overall it was great working with these guys!!! <br />"
