"I called Palmer Plumbing when the water pressure was low in the house. They recognized that the well pump was running continuously and could not bring the water pressure to its set point. They recommended L & M to work on the well pump. Palmer Plumbing did not charge for the problem diagnosis. I called L&M at 10 AM after Palmer left. L&M was at the house within 3 hours. Three hours latter L&M had pulled the 19 year old well pump, replaced it with a new, properly sized pump from the inventory on the truck, flushed the well, checked and charged the well pump pressure tanks under the house and was gone. Water pressure in the house is better than it was when I bought the house 10 years ago. As a curious engineer I watched and asked questions as they performed the work; each one of which was patiently answered with specific information. These people are truly excellent and their work is fairly priced."

"Very professional. I had a sump pump and backup pump installed as well as a hot water heater. Both guys did a great job. Both items are working beautifully. My husband and I could not be more pleased. Done Right Today will be the company we call with our next plumbing problem."

Customers say: Quick response

"Prompt response to request, on time for scheduled service, said he would return on Monday to finish up and even though our streets were not plowed (and he knew it), he returned at the time he said he would and completed the job. Courteous as well. Would highly recommend this company to anyone needing plumbing service."

"L & M Well and Pump Services is one of the few companies that really come to complete the work of getting your well water pump system up and running. Dan, assessed the situation by retrieving the old pump and finding any problems with the overall well condition. He explained the condition of the pump and the bad copper wire shielding. These needed to be replaced. He went to work and we had water with proper pressure to all faucets, sinks, baths, showers, etc. Upon finishing the work he gave his assurance of any problems please call. His work ethic is 'old school' purposeful in completing the work and ensuring quality work. I was thoroughly impressed."

"As far as the price goes, I thought it was fair.  It was slightly more expensive than other places on the market, but they did provide installation and supposed ongoing customer service.
Installation was on time and very efficient.
Has it fixed my issue?  Yes.  It was a good solution.
MY ISSUE THAT STILL REMAINS is that I have never to this day received the receipt that I was promised to be mailed with all of my warranty information, etc.  This is now over 6 months later and after calling their corporate office as well.  I have no problem dropping a little extra money for the best solution.  Why can't you just send me my receipt and warranty info?
While their on-site crew seemed great, I probably won't use them again because their office staff is clearly disorganized which gives me reservations about receiving ongoing service for potentially lingering issues.

"Went well to this point of replacing parts. Then the United needed to have a system leak test and then needed freon put in pump. This was refused by Choice warranty. We were left with a partial repair and a heat pump not able to do it's job."

"I had a lot of water pooling in my back yard.  I could not find the source.  I called Sufside Plumbing because they had some reviews on-line.  Most were favorable.  The owner showed up within 45 minutes, and evaluated the problem, deciding I must have a leak under the house.  He promised that one of his workers would arrive later in the day to fix.  Good to his word, the employee arrived several hours later, confirmed the problem.  After calling in a pump truck to pump out 6" of water under the house, he repaired the leak.  He was professional, courteous, and effective.  The whole process took less than 1 hour. The actual repair bill was fair and just.   I was very impressed.  I would use them again."

FAQs for well pump repair or service projects in Sudlersville, MD

A standard well inspection begins with a visual inspection of the pump, casing, storage tank, and wiring, followed by flow rate tests and laboratory-based water sampling. The goal is to confirm that every part meets safety standards and to identify any necessary repairs before they become expensive. An inspector will also test your water quality for substances such as volatile organic compounds and any local containment concerns.

Book a licensed, insured well specialist for your inspection. Many well‑pump contractors also hold inspection credentials. They’ll bring the right tools to assess the pump, wiring, and water quality, and provide you with a clear report on any necessary fixes. Before you hire, confirm their license, insurance, and recent customer reviews.

Plan on a full well inspection every year. You’ll also want one any time the cap comes off, after septic repairs, or if flooding occurs. Annual tests look for total and fecal coliform; every two years, the lab should screen for metals and nitrates, and every five years for VOCs and pesticides. If you’re buying a home with a private well, it’s essential to schedule a pre-purchase inspection.

With routine care, most wells supply clean water for up to 40 years. Lifespan depends on the type and how well you protect it. To help it reach the maximum lifespan, keep hazardous products far from the casing, ensure the cap stays sealed, schedule yearly inspections, and address problems as soon as they appear. Good habits keep the system healthy and the water safe.

The average cost of well repairs ranges from $100 to $2,800. Your final bill depends on which part—pump, pressure tank, casing, or piping—needs attention and the level of complexity involved in the repair. A thorough inspection identifies the problem, allowing you to budget accurately and avoid paying for unnecessary parts or services.
