"It was a pleasure to have them advise me on my home in Berkeley Springs, WV. The original estimate was not changed due to my house having an ancient type of foundation that precluded them from cutting into the cement floor for the tile drains. The alternative was sheeting applied to the walls with a "guttering" type baseboard that collects the water and gravity drains it to the sump pump. " hollow plastic baseboard is installed along the base of basement walls to form a drainage channel that directs water to a sump pump system. A baseboard-type drainage system is sometimes recommended when the basement slab is too thin to accommodate a French Drain." It cost $5000 to install the entire drainage system and sump pump in 2017. "Slow draining tub, a toilet that just won't flush, and some back flow when using the dishwasher left us thinking we just had a major clog.  To our surprise, it was a collapsed sewer line that needed to be replaced.  While there was a 1 week wait due to the time of year and the demands they were expecting, we were more than happy to wait the week.  Work went quickly and smoothly, and was far less intrusive than we anticipated.  Their staff even wore shoe coverings when coming into the house!  Only some minor clean up work was required once they left, which appeared to be an oversight when they cleaned up.  Everything else was back to normal after they left and no problems since."

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

"Very satisfied with the work performed.  Didn't cut corners...used treated lumber for the bottom plate of walls (though our basement is about as watertight as one could be), insulated up into the floor joists along the exterior walls, etc.  Most days Jodie (and his 1 or 2 employees) showed up promptly at 8:30 a.m. and put in an 8 hour day.  Some individual projects (like re-locating the water heater) took longer than expected but I understand things like that will happen.  Each day after they left I felt that adequate progress had taken place.  I was very hands on during the entire project, I always wanted to know what the 'plan for the day' was, how was he going to do this or that, etc.  Jodie made sure that he knew exactly what I wanted.  Project took approximately a week longer to complete than estimated due to some unforeseen issues.  I would hire Jodie again in a heartbeat, as a matter of fact, Jodie and I have already discussed 2 future projects."
