"My water bills have been sky high since December 2018. It jumped from around $36/month to an average of $275/month. This is my vacation home in Florida so we are only there one week per month. I contacted Trusted Rooter to help me find out what is going on. It was not an emergency, but I was seen that day for a free estimate. He checked the plumbing inside and outside the house for water leakages. Found an outside faucet that was leaking water which may raise water bill by $30/month. He suggested that I shut off the main water valve whenever I am not in the area. We could not locate the shutoff for the main water valve, so he installed it. He suggested I get a locking device so someone cannot reopen the valve while I am away. I suspect that someone is using my outside faucet to water their lawn while I am not in the area.
