Customers say: Quick response

"Polite, thorough, knowledgeable, timely, and skilled. Good qualities to have in a plumber when water is suddenly coming through your kitchen ceiling. They also went the extra mile to find me a drywaller who wouldn't rip me off. That was awesome."

"Called - not an emergency, but plumber there in one hour; job done 45 minutes later; copper line required soldering, so not just gluing plastic / slide on shark-bite connectors. I have done a lot of less-complicated soldering, and these joints were perfect IMHO."

"Ben Franklin came out on a emergency call on a Sunday due to us losing water, what we didn't know was the main septic pipe pulled apart under the house and left a foot of liquid sewage. Shawn crawled under our home and found the problems and had a clean up crew from Gale Force, that they work with, come out that evening to start. He returned the next day and got our water running and returned on wednesday to finish the repairs. Would highly recommend both Ben Franklin, Shawn, and Gale Force to our family, friends and co workers. <br />"

"The company sent a technician to our home to view what was involved in the job. They then suggested a cook top that was very attractively priced on sale. The installation went well and the gas line was well hidden, so it did not detract from the look of our home. The cook top needed some work, which was performed well but took several weeks because the measurements were wrong. The company persisted and everything was done right in the end. We paid the entire bill on delivery, but ABW followed up on all work needed to make the job perfect even though they had already been paid. We were impressed. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Templeville, MD

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
