"Paul Derosia of Triple D is a high integrity individual. He is polite, soft spoken, and knowledgeable. He showed up on time, every day, and took painstaking care to do the siding and painting job as if it was his own home. The siding installation, the window trim, the caulking, and the painting were all done professionally. Paul doesn't just bid a job, and then hand off the work. On any given day, Paul could be seen on a ladder or the scaffolding, and even with a paint brush in hand. I don't typically provide public reviews of contractors, but, I was impressed with Paul, his skills, integrity, and work ethic. I am extremely pleased with how our home looks, and I have the confidence that I won't have to deal with the exterior of our home for a long time to come! Gary Mallory Gresham, Oregon"

"After a bit of phone tag with the Southerland company, Roy came out to look at the series of small repairs we lined up.  All were plumbing needs we had in a newly purchased home.
Apparently our needs were not great enough or scope not large enough to warrant a call back from the Southerland outfit.  We even called and asked if an estimate was in the offing.  I generally try not to beg workers to take my money - but I liked the estimator and felt that there would be more work in the future as we planned for a double bath remodel.  I got no response.  No calls back to say they did not wish to do the job. Nothing.
It is probably for the best since communication is the largest part of any successful contracting agreement.  If an estimate cannot be produced in a timely fashion it speaks to the quality of communication overall.  Southerland clearly communicated that they were not interested in doing the work we had lined up.  They just did it in a passive and very unprofessional manner.

"We hired Fine Finish (Mark) to design and build a 2-car attached garage with partially finished space overhead, including a small finished office.
It's hard to list all the ways Mark and Travis went above and beyond during our garage addition project. First, they worked through some of the worst weather an Oregon winter has to offer. While most of Portland was crippled due to flooding, Mark and Travis were hauling shingles up a 2-story ladder and installing our roof. When they were planning the gutter installation, they noticed that our existing gutters were still full of oak leaves. So they cleaned the gutters. They were especially patient with our 18 month-old son, who affectionately referred to them as the ?guys? and took a keen interest in everything they did.
Mark anticipated future design aspects that we hadn?t thought of like leaving space and wiring in the garage for a central HVAC
system. He asked insightful questions about future plans to make sure our money was spent wisely, now and in the future. Even during the design phase, Mark was very transparent about different cost-saving options and associated tradeoffs.
We expected that once the work started, we would mostly be dealing with subcontractors. To our surprise, only the foundation work, gutters, and garage door installation were sub-contracted. Mark and Travis did all of the framing and finish work themselves. As a result, the quality of our addition is noticeably superior to that of our original home.
If you want someone to hire an army of people to throw your project together as quickly as possible, look elsewhere. If you want the attention to detail of a craftsman and an honest, no-nonsense interaction with someone who takes pride in his work and has your best interests at heart, talk to Mark. We?re glad we did and we?ll definitely be back in the future.

"We selected NW Outdoor Living and Landscapes because it was well reviewed on Angie's List. When we initially met with Robert, we liked him and his ideas for our backyard. Going back and forth with Robert, we came up with the design we wanted. Then his crew came to build it. We were very impressed with them. They were very knowledgeable, professional and competent. They built a backyard that we love."

"I called to cancel it because, there was a lot of miscommunication. There was not enough understanding of what I needed and what they were doing. Then they tried to help me out, it turned out OK in the end and it got resolved. It took me a while to call them because, I had surgery. They were responsive and good. What I had done took longer, so I had to pay another $400. I would have done more research, or gotten more bids on it. They were pleasant, and responsible. For me, it would have been better if they had sent someone at first, before they did the job. I would have shown them what needed to be done, and they would have understood me better. They were punctual."

"They put moldings over a closet and punctured the tracks so the doors couldn't slide.  That created an extra job for my husband who had to redo it.  One window they framed and did a good job the other had a few gaps that I can fix with caulk.  The closet they framed was uneven by about a half inch on one side.  So good job for getting a few things finished but not very detail oriented.

"Larry and Glen did work for us - this was the third job. They installed a 40' block retaining wall to extend our back yard. Then they installed a patio and two walks. Once again they did a great job for a fair price. These guys are the greatest."

"Everything went well.  Arrived on time, performed the inspection and reported that we had a sturdy foundation; a few minor cracks but nothing that needed to be addressed.  No leaking or water damage discovered.  This professional business man was sincere and caring and did not recommend unnecessary work or turn this Angie's List "Big Deal" into a bigger deal!  I recommend Ethereal highly to anyone in need of his expertise!  If the need arises, we will certainly seek out the assistance of Ethereal Elements again!

"In the fall I moved into a townhouse built in 1976 that had recently been refurbished and updated. As expected, there are always little upgrades and improvements necessary to make the place your own. My honey-do list was growing. How and where would I find a trustworthy and reliable handyman (again)? Would you believe that within a two-day period in various parts of town I spotted a pristine van three times with the logo "Ron Can Do It" on it? Was it a sign from God that I should hire him or only coincidence? It ended up being an answer to my prayers!

Ron Richardson did work for me three times in a seven-day period. He was prompt to arrive and a good listener to what I wanted done. He was a fast, efficient worker, but also careful, detail-oriented, and meticulous. When he saw that something additional should be done, such as weather stripping around the entry door from the garage into the house, he suggested it but didn't pressure me. While his hourly rate is more than I ever paid any handymen in the past, I felt that he worked quickly, and the prices were fair for the excellent quality of work.

What delayed me in submitting an Angie's List review was that after Ron started working for me in October, I noticed the For Sale sign on the side of his van. He was selling his vehicle, tools, and client list. I was devastated by this news after finding such a wonderful, honest, and reliable "honey-do specialist."  Well, there's bad news and good news...For Ron the deal with a recent, potential buyer fell through. For me, it's good news. Ron is back in business. Sorry, Ron, but maybe it was an answer to another of MY prayers!

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Timber, OR

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
