"I had many people come quote me for my stairs with outlandish prices telling me that there was nothing I could do to repair the old stairs in my home. Mike came out and not only did he educate me he was able to repair my stairs quickly and for a reasonable price. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for repair or remodel."

"Bila returned my initial call promptly and arrived the following day to look at the work that needed to be done.  He started the job within a few days and arrived on time with an assistant.  |His price was very fair and included labor and paint.  He painted an exterior atrium wall, repainted exterior French doors that were poorly painted by another company, painted the interior wood staircase railing and an interior bathroom door.|He was very organized, covered all the floors and left everything the way he found it.|I recommend his work.|"

"Ed, the Tech arrived on time, inspected old (17 yr) opener that was not working and found that the motherboard, or the whole unit, would need to be replaced. Decided that after 17 years of use, it would be better to replace the old unit. Ed installed Liftmaster 8365 Premium Series 1/2HP AC Motor with 7' Chain Rail and tuned the rollers"

FAQs for wood stairs and railings installation and replacement projects in Tolleson, AZ

A pro can set an attic ladder in two to four hours, including framing adjustments and finish work. Complex installs—like cutting a brand-new opening or trimming joists—land toward the high end of that window. Tackle the job yourself and plan on a full day, plus an extra pair of hands, since one mis-measurement can slow everything down.

Local building codes drive this decision. If your ceiling has a fire-rating requirement, the ladder must match it to maintain that protective barrier. A rated unit slows flame spread between the attic and living space, buying valuable evacuation time and limiting damage.

Because codes vary by city and even by neighborhood, check with the permitting office or ask your contractor before you order the ladder.

Aluminum ladders are light, rust-proof, and easy to maneuver, making them a practical choice for most households. Wood models handle higher weight loads and can match traditional trim if aesthetics top your list, but they’re heavier and need occasional upkeep.

Compare the ladder’s duty rating, your ceiling height, and how often you’ll use it. The best option is the one that balances safety, convenience, and the look you want without stretching the budget.
