"I really like this company. They are courteous and friendly. The gentleman identified the problems with my garage door and explained my options for getting it fixed. Everything was made clear. Because we have had so much trouble with the other motor, I had them install a new motor, which runs quietly and has a life-time guarantee. I am very happy with the purchase and with their work. If you are looking to install a new garage door or need one serviced, I highly recommend this company. <br />"

"<p>I found EPride on Angie's List, as well as a few others who I won't name.  Gilbert, the owner, was very prompt about setting an appointment and arriving on time for the walk through. Due to the unique nature of the house and yard, I had drainage issues that I wanted addressed, and had something in mind.  No other contractor but Gilbert got the idea of using a curb and drainage system.</p> <p>The old concrete was cut out, no Jack Hammers to disturb the neighbors, and they laid the new concrete on the hottest day yet in August.  His crew was courteous and they cleaned up the area very well.  As part of the project, they also laid footings and concrete block to help support a tuck under garage that had some foundation issues.  I was very happy with the outcome, and it was the lowest bid to boot.  Some guys on this list didn't even bother to show up, but Gilbert is the only one I'll refer business to and would use again. </p> <br />"

"The team sent did a great job! Supplies were delivered when they said they would be and the team was here to start the job when they said they would be here. With a threat of rain, they made sure when they stopped for the night that nothing would get wet that shouldn't and they worked late to ensure any potential rain did not cause any damage. When they removed the old chimney they found the wood was rotted, and replaced it without question. It took them 3 days to complete the job, but they cleaned up as they worked each day and made sure they cleaned up before they left daily. We have found no nails or trash from the job and the house and garage look great. They also took special care of two Clematis plants I have by the garage - and as they were gifts from my sons - it is greatly appreciated. We were impressed with the professionalism, and the work ethic the team showed as well as the quality of completion."

"Adam and all his team were top notch. I had heard horror stories from friends building with other construction companies and I thankfully didn't have any of that. Adam is a good communicator, returning calls and is available anytime an issue arose. His crew was great and all the subs, pleasant and open to suggestions, good with problem solving, and picked up after themselves. Highly recommend."

FAQs for garage building service projects in Truro, IA

A well‑constructed, properly permitted detached garage adds between $12,000 and $36,000 to a home’s resale value. Buyers appreciate the secure parking, extra storage, and flexible workspace, so appraisers often bump the property’s value accordingly. The exact return depends on the garage’s size, finishes, and how well it matches the main house, but most homeowners see a strong ROI when the build meets local codes and passes inspection.

Yes—once it meets local building codes and you secure the proper permits, a detached garage can be converted into living space. Finishing the interior, adding climate control, and ensuring safe egress effectively increase your usable square footage, though it may not always count toward the official listing. Skipping permits can trigger fines and even force you to undo the work, so always clear plans with your city first.

Most homeowners policies cover a detached garage under the “other structures” provision, but coverage limits vary. Review your declarations page and ask your agent how much protection you have for separate structures. If the limit is lower than the garage’s replacement cost, you can raise it for a modest premium. Confirming the details now prevents headaches if you ever need to file a claim.
