"I always thought I might need additional insulation in my attic. The home was built in 1993. Noticed L&L ad on Facebook and called for a free estimate. Abraham came the next day and entered my attic and evaluated all my needs. I needed additional depth to my blow in insulation it was at only R-24 and he recommended R-49 also ventilation would be addressed by cleaning all soffit vents and adding baffles, reattaching loose existing baffles. Spray foam insulation would be used to close any obvious openings. They also built additional length to my attic scuttle hole (attic opening) to keep the blown-in insulation from falling into the living area. Best home improvement bang for my buck that I have had done. Abraham and crew treated myself my wife and home with excellent care, On-time @ 8am done by 12pm. The workers were professional and worked the entire time they were here (which seems like a low standard, but I've had situations where 4 people come to work and 2 stand around talking for most of it from other companies). More importantly, they explained what they were doing as they did it, and cleaned up after themselves before they left! Scheduling the service was quick and easy since they were able to use our Alliant Energy quote to avoid a second home assessment, and they came in under budget. Very satisfied - plan to have them back to blow insulation in the exterior walls before winter."

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
