"Bob is phenomenal! A craftsman and perfectionist, He had great ideas and workmanship in helping with a re-design of our deck to make it more functional. He works quickly, easy to communicate with and he is there when he says he will be there. Our drywall repair was done quickly and looks great! His pricing for all he does is more than fair!! I highly recommend Woodpecker Workshop! Pricing below was for deck and includes tear out and all new materials and labor.."

"<p>Gary did a fantastic job for us.  We do not live in the area, he did a great job communicating the project status providing email updates, phone calls, pictures, etc...  The carpentry work he performed is top notch, with excellent attention to detail.  He is very thorough and contentious throughout the whole process.  He owned the entire project taking care of every odd and end as we were not there through the majority of the work.  Beyond the work he performed himself he contracted and oversaw a high quality team of sub contractors that included plumbing, electrical, flooring, water well, drywall, paint, and excavation.  He's been in the area for a long time and has a great network of high quality talent to bring the right team to the project.</p> <br />"

"Too early in the process to judge.  However, from three different contractors I selected Al and appreciate his responsiveness to my budget needs and his patience and input in dealing with the project planning phase.  We start construction Jan 6 and expect the project to last 4-6 weeks.  I'll give a final grade then"

"Grant and his team did a great job.  Reece and Justin were the two who did the actual install/repair/re-installation of the flooring with Grant's oversight.  Grant was punctual with his timing on his estimate and the actual cost was what was agreed upon for the job. Reece and Justin did a terrific job with the actual installation and went above and beyond in many facets to make sure that the work was satisfactory based on our desires.  There were a few unexpected challenges during the job and rather than take the easy way out and just try to "make it work" they took the time to do it right the first time.  Justin and Reece's craftsmanship was top notch with regard to the installation of the laminate floor with good attention to detail so that the seams looked appropriate and the lines were straight.  Overall we are very pleased with the work and would recommend Good Hands to all of our friends and neighbors."

FAQs for garage building service projects in Two-buttes, CO

A well‑constructed, properly permitted detached garage adds between $12,000 and $36,000 to a home’s resale value. Buyers appreciate the secure parking, extra storage, and flexible workspace, so appraisers often bump the property’s value accordingly. The exact return depends on the garage’s size, finishes, and how well it matches the main house, but most homeowners see a strong ROI when the build meets local codes and passes inspection.

Yes—once it meets local building codes and you secure the proper permits, a detached garage can be converted into living space. Finishing the interior, adding climate control, and ensuring safe egress effectively increase your usable square footage, though it may not always count toward the official listing. Skipping permits can trigger fines and even force you to undo the work, so always clear plans with your city first.

Most homeowners policies cover a detached garage under the “other structures” provision, but coverage limits vary. Review your declarations page and ask your agent how much protection you have for separate structures. If the limit is lower than the garage’s replacement cost, you can raise it for a modest premium. Confirming the details now prevents headaches if you ever need to file a claim.
