"I called Mr. Rooter because I had called another Plumbing company to come out the night before and they were a no show.  They were extremely friendly over the phone.  I called at approx 8AM and said they'd be able to come out by 11AM.  They called at about 9:30 to say someone was available to come out now and I said that was perfect.  They arrived at 10AM. <br /> <br /> Jason was the plumber who arrived and he was very very friendly and professional.  I told him the problem and we discussed pricing up front.  I had a coupon which he said they would definitely honor.  He immediately got to work.  He wore footies over his shoes while in the house.  He worked diligently and answered all of my questions.  After about an hour and being certain the line was clear he cleaned up, we took care of payment which was exactly what was discussed beforehand, and he was on his way. <br /> <br /> A very pleasant and hassle free experience.  I will definitely be calling Mr. Rooter for the Franklin County area again for any plumbing needs and would recommend them to anyone needing this kind of work. <br /> <br /> The job also comes with a 30 day warranty which I thought was great and definitely put my mind at ease just in case something happened again."

"This was a sales pitch, but that was not what I was expecting AT ALL. I was contacted by the company and asked if I wanted to have my water tested, so that is what I thought I was having done.  I became slightly suspicious when the day before the "test," a representative from the company called and said my husband needed to be present during the demonstration.  Demonstration?  What demonstration? <br /> Well, it was a demonstration.  Over three hours (YES -- if only I had billed for those hours, I'm sure it could have gone more quickly!) of my Saturday time was completely wasted. <br /> The water-softening system (they don't call it a water softener, but that's basically what it is) probably is very good, but while I was considering doing my research and maybe even purchasing the system (even though they tricked me), I lost ALL interest when I learned I had to make the decision THAT DAY to get the special pricing and the "free" annual supply of laundry soap.  When the pressure is that high, there probably is something wrong. <br /> The sales representative (they call themselves something else, like water treatment engineers or some silliness) was quite well-trained and very personable.  Good enough that I considered looking into the system further until she started with that "you must buy today" part of the pitch.  At that point, I knew none of it was sincere.  Just a good old-fashioned bait and switch. <br />"

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Union, MO

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
