"Working with them was an exceptional experience. Phil came out to my home and was knowledgeable about everything going on in the basement. In addition, he was detailed oriented about everything he was quoting and left no question I had unanswered. The quote was reasonable. I will say this though. It was not the cheapest, but I was not looking for the cheapest. I was looking for quality work. That is exactly what was delivered. After hiring them, the crew came out on time and was efficient and professional. I was not left unhappy with the work and Phil has continued to answer any questions I have had post install. Great team to work with for any foundation needs."

"We have a service contract with them for approx 12 years. They have been in business for a long time in my town. I think a lot of the company. I trust them and the owner does a lot for the community as far as helping people out with their heating and air systems. I like the fact that they give back to the community. They also caught something that could have been a carbon monoxide problem with something that happened from a roofing situation that created a problem with our heating and air. The technician found the problem so I feel like he kinda saved our lives. They do a good job and have well trained people. There are places that are cheaper but I don't see a need to change. They also found some problems with the initial installation of our system and corrected that."

"This is one of the BEST contractors I've Ever worked with in 20 years. Brent and his team were amazing. I interviewed 8 or 9 different roofing and gutter companies . Christian Roofing was the only one that mathematically and correctly addressed the inadequate ventilation on this hip roof. The installation was inmpressive: A crew that's worked together for many years; the Foreman and Job Capitain are the perfect complementary balance of new school / old school as one has a GA Tech degree and the other has 35 years hands on experience; they brought a port-a-potty with the dumpster; they did not use kick boards - which make additional holes- but were roped in; and they left the job site- my home- clean! The synthetic roof felt, shingles, vents were all high quality GAF materials with a long warranty. As important of an investment as a new roof is, I am just so glad I found these guys. Rarely do I write reviews but 'simply had to after a job this well-done!"

"Prepped and painted bedroom walls.  Moved furniture to paint and replaced it.  Caulked and painted master bath baseboards.  Also furnished and installed downspout screens to all downspouts outside. |Quality of work was excellent and work was done timely.  You never have to worry that you will be left hanging."

"The service went very well. The roof replacement took as long as advised by the owner of Trademark. Sam (the owner) was quick to respond to any questions that we had throughout the process, and was very friendly. We had an incident where we had signed agreements to have Trademark replace our roof, then a storm came through and destroyed a portion of our roof. I contacted Sam regarding this and he advised us on what to do with our insurance company. They helped make the process of getting the insurance claim through nearly effortless. Sam continued to answer any questions that I had even after the service was complete. I like that they are not a "one and done" contractor. We had the roof replaced about 6 months ago and so far everything has been great. Great quality, professional attitude, quick turnaround. Thanks!"

"Hail damage occurred in March of this year and I contacted Braswell Construction as well as 2 other local roofing companies. Chris Gaugler contacted me asap and came out to the house. The other two roofing companies I never heard back. Braswell Construction contacted my insurance company and worked out all the details. A week later I had a brand new roof with gorgeous colored shingles. Everyone in the neighborhood stopped by and literally knocked on the door to inquire. Chris Gaugler was onsite and available for questions anytime to the very end. The crew only took one day to do the house, extended 4 car garage and well house. Photos attached and it really makes a difference."

"I'm a remodeling contractor on a project in Hartwell, GA. <br /> Very well. Chris Hall and Son, Chase, came and did a very good job hanging the drywall, cutting and snapping the flooring together, and gave me good advice. <br /> I bought a vanity light to go above the mirror/medicine cabinet. Without opening the box Chris knew that the mirror was 7 1/2 inches thick, and would likely block the overhead light.  He told me immediately which was very early in the day and I had time to go buy sconces to mount on each side of the mirror.  I could tell that he thinks proactively and that helped save me time and money. <br />"

"Larry Hodge worked as contractor for the renovation of the Dollar General store into Trumps Catering on S. Milledge Avenue. Each sub contractor hired was professional and the work was excellent. Larry's expectations of the subcontractors was higher than ours. He and his teams were on time always. To say the least, we were very very pleased and would recommend and rehire Hodge Design and Remodeling."

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Union Point, GA

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
