"Look no further!! Al is the best general contractor in the area!! We hired Al almost 7 years ago for a large scale home remodel (new floors, new windows, removal of load bearing walls, etc.) and he and his team were great to work with. Al and foreman arrived daily by 7 am & worked hard all day. He did not delay our project by setting up side projects during our construction. He was flexible with us when we changed our minds or had new ideas and he worked hard to get our project done on time and kept to our budget. There are no surprises with Al. He held weekly meetings at our house to show us what he had accomplished and the plan for moving forward. He was so professional, but also approachable and would take a call from us anytime. This was the first time we've ever tackled a home remodel and we had no idea what we were doing. Al guided us the entire way. A few of our neighbors saw how hard he worked and hired him to do similar jobs (remove load bearing walls, widen doorways to open up the flow of the house) at their homes. Over the years, we've contacted Al to get advice on various home projects and he is always there to give advice or come over to check things out himself. About 2 years ago, we had an issue with a custom shower he installed and he sent the glass company out to correct our problem and he must have paid the fee because we were told there was no charge. He is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to various trades (good, trustworthy plumbers, electricians, carpet layers, etc.) and is always willing to share his contacts with us. We recently called Al to get advice on a new front door. He stopped over on his way out with his wife to take a look and get measurements. His customer service is unbelievable! If Al has an opening in his schedule, setup a time to meet him. You will know immediately that he is a great man for the job. He enjoys what he does and it shows! Thank you so much, Al!!! We appreciate you!"

"Bruce and his guys did a great job on multiple projects. They repaired the deck and three season porch, replaced damaged wood around the garage, installed siding, and replaced the kitchen counters. His bids are detailed, so there are no surprises, and the work is very reasonably priced. Everyone showed up on time and got the jobs done in a timely manner (based on past experience with other contractors, that is highly unusual!). I needed other work done that Bruce does not do, so he recommended another contractor That contractor also turned out to be excellent!"

"Our home is 20 years old and due to some things that the original builders did during construction, we had excessive floor noise (squeaks and creaks) and the overall floor performance wasn't what it should be. I found Gary and Kimberlin Construction here, and after reviewing the site, talking to Gary, and sharing the specifics of our situation, he and his team were the right folks to come in and help us out. The overall job took three days, and I'm extremely happy with the results. The floor feels much better when walking on it, and the squeaks and creaks have effectively been eliminated. Throughout the job Gary and his team were professional, always on time, and took the time to both listen to the info that I shard, as well as explained what exactly they were going to do as well as what they did. They worked in a safe manner while in our home, something that is so important given the situation with COVID. The price was quite reasonable for the work that was done, and if I had to do it all over again I would. I whole-heartedly recommend Kimberlin Construction for any work that you need done, and I will certainly be using them again as needed for other repair or remodeling projects."

Customers say: Quick response

"Brian, of Master Remodel was working with Kevin of Carol Ann Construction to put in vinyl plank flooring throughout our house. All of the contractors were highly professional, prompt on the time they said they would be here each morning, and a pleasure to have in my home. They finished the entire house in a little over 3 days. We were very excited at the outcome of the finished product. Master Remodel and Carol Ann Construction are professionals in the highest sense of the word! We highly recommend them."

Small jobs welcome

Credit card accepted

Hello there! I'm a Saint Charles/Saint Louis native and an experienced carpenter and remodeller of 17 years! Been in my own business since 2022. I love to do beautiful work at reasonable prices. I am focused on design-minded small construction and carpentry--this means that I am not primarily so focused on flashy features and the newest updates, and more focused on how I can create a project with you that makes sense with your specific house and it's architectural design. I love working with wood the most but really love doing most anything on a home and happy to do handyman work here and there as well. Please reach out so we can start a conversation! I'm happy to offer advice on how to navigate the construction industry or send you phone numbers of other great guys if you need other services. I focus on approachability and a down to earth experience. I love doing good work, i'm easy to deal with and show up when I say I will. Would love to work with you!

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in University City, MO

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
