Their was a minor issue with the quality of the fascia that was replaced on one side of the house but it was resolved satisfactorily in a timely manner. "First let it be known that I have waited a period of time after completion as I wanted this to be a honest not a plain and acirc;??P***** Offand acirc;?? review. Details: my start date was set for the contractor to be out first thing on 5/28/14. I took the week off from work to be sure that anything that was needed to be done by me could be handled immediately. When the sub-contractor (not verified subs but they kept taking phone calls for what sounded like non-Siding Repair Systems jobs) on my time. They did not arrive and I called a bit frustrated that no one showed and Cory the and acirc;??Bossand acirc;?? said the current job they were on they ran into a mold problem. I told them that they could come out the next day then and was told they would be there. I believe I should have at least received a phone call explaining they could not make it and to ask for a re-schedule. That did not happen on day 2 or day 3. I was asked if they could pay the installer double time and if I could be there on Sunday. I was OK with that and they did not show at the arranged time of 9-10 oand acirc;??clock. So I called Cory yet again (about 5 times now making this same call) and he did not have much to say but he would call them. Finally they showed for the first time walked around the house a bit and left saying they were to get the materials that should have been on their truck before they showed up 3 hours late. When they got back and started removing the old siding they left the house open to the elements and it rained heavily that night. Next day (Monday) they did not show ti Mid-afternoon again and that was the way the whole thing was. They did a couple hours and left. However my wife works a big box hardware store and she Note that the siding they were putting up did not look like the James Hardie siding we were paying for. I challenged them on that and when they looked they realized that they made a mistake. Now I thought to myself if it would not have been for the observation of my wife they would have completely sided the house with the wrong material and charged us for the Hardie siding and if we were normal consumers we would have never known. Makes one wonder if that is a new and acirc;??bait and switch and acirc;?? tactic? Then they had to go get the Hardie Siding and the boss Cory calls now that they were caught with the wrong stuff 50% on the walls and asks if I would be willing to take the lesser siding at a lesser price. I said no as I and acirc;??trusted themand acirc;?? to do the right thing. Finally after 3 more days of being late and 3 strong rain storms the job was done. It does look good BTW canand acirc;??t fault that I guess. To end the story I have to make 2 more calls for them to get the trash completely removed and that was only after I threaten them by having American Express withhold payment. I would not recommend this outfit to anyone. I lost 24 hours of vacation due to them not showing up as promised, the trash left around my house, and the and acirc;??presumedand acirc;?? mistake of the wrong siding. I read all the previous reviews on Angieand acirc;??s List and based on my experience I tend to believe they are forgeries. BEWARE is my only warning!!!!!"

"John Kelemen with Ferguson Roofing did a fantastic job. He came promptly, which I really appreciated because water was coming in through the roof. He examined the roof and took pictures of the source of the leak. When he showed me the pictures he explained what was wrong, what he would need to do to fix it, and how much it would cost. The repairs were very affordable and he went ahead and did them right away. If my roof needs any repairs in the future, I'll be sure to call Ferguson and request him. This is the second time we've used Ferguson Roofing--they replaced the roof on our previous home--and we were very happy with their work on that job too. I highly recommend them, whether it's for repairs or for an entirely new roof."

"GCS did an excellent job executing a pretty complicated project. I would definitely recommend them to a friend. The bid that Dennis provided was very detailed and thorough. He came by several times to take measurements and ask questions about our intentions and goals for the project. He also had his electrical and HVAC subcontractors contact us to gather information about the project. It took about two weeks for the bid to be completed, which caused us to get a little impatient, but the final result was far more complete and thorough than any of the other bids we received. The cost was also very competitive. Work started soon after we signed the contract. Dennis did a very good job of coordinating the the tasks, including bringing the various subcontractors to the site in a timely manner, and within about 6 weeks we had the foundations poured and the basic framing done on the 8'x10' kitchen addition and the 16'x20' 1st floor bedroom/basement addition. Dennis' team were receptive to the changes to the plan (there will always be changes to the plan) that we asked for. The changes were documented, invoiced and priced reasonably. There was a lot of inside work to perform, so that took another 3 months or so. Insulation, drywalling, drywall finishing, carpet removal and installation, removal of the old kitchen cabinets and appliances, etc. Again, Dennis did a good job of scheduling the various specialists to come in and do their thing. Dennis was very responsive to any issues or concerns that came up through text messaging or by phone. Problems: Main issue was that the pace of work in the middle of the project was slower than we would have liked. This was mostly an issue with one individual worker. Overall: We are very happy with the results of the project and would recommend GCS highly. Attached picture is of the kitchen interior just prior to completion. It is exactly what we had envisioned."

"I received 2 other quotes before I contacted him that I absolutely could not do.  I kept getting told that because my home was so old and the door was original to the house that it had to be custom built along with the frame and would cost thousands of dollars.  I just could not accept that.  Richard came out quickly and looked at my door and told me he would have it done within the week and he absolutely did.  He found the parts he needed and replaced the doors and replaced some of the framing within 2 days.  It was a lot of work to do.  He and his other man were very polite and professional and I would use them again.

The bid was reasonable & they filed all insurance paperwork so that I had cash in hand to pay on completion. The workmanship was thorough and well done. And they have followed up twice in 15 months over questions. I chose this roofer because they had excellent references from friends and friends of friends who lived nearby.

"The entire experience with Josh Dunn and his team went extremely well. I had another contractor over to look at the space, and his estimate was 30k, he really had no good ideas for what to do with the originally awkward layout, and he advised that I should move my two kids (ages 1 and 4) out of the upstairs during the remodel. Josh walked in and immediately envisioned what to do with the space and came in with a lower estimate. He and Mike worked meticulously, controlled dust, and cleaned up every afternoon before they left. They did any and all sawing and tile-cutting outside. My baby took naps in the basement, but both my kids slept at night in their own beds in their rooms, and I never worried about dust. Josh and Mike are polite and professional, keep you informed of the process, and are also very good at what they do. No drywall seam is visible, no tile is crooked, and the paint job is extremely clean. Our remodel was extensive enough that we needed city (Richmond Heights) permits, and that required that separate electricians and plumbers do that work and that everything (electrical, plumbing, building) be inspected two times. All of that slowed things down, but Josh and Mike communicated so well and kept everything so neat that I had no complaints. They also subcontracted out to workers who were as nice and professional as they are. I will have Dunn Home Improvements do any home remodeling project, large or small, that arises in the future."
