"Finney was quick to respond to my project request and was very communicative and professional. Trent came out and explained his process thoroughly and easily. He reassured me that if my issue arise again, they would come back out. He also answered every one of my questions, even those unrelated to my issue but concerns I had for my showers. He’s the best. Quick and efficient "

"Arrived promptly, that's a good thing and went right to work. Work was efficient however for the price that I was charged I would have thought the areas that were disturbed would have been put back cleanly and neater than was left with. Had to readjust several of the sprinklers later on. Work was with in normal expectations but price versus service lower than expected. Felt like he was rushing the service to get to the next job."

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I couldn’t be happier with the work done by Precision Painting and Construction. From start to finish, they were professional, reliable, and paid close attention to every detail. The painting turned out flawless — clean lines, perfect color matching, and the finish looks amazing. They also handled some construction repairs before painting, and the quality of the work was outstanding. Communication was clear throughout the entire project, and the crew always showed up on time and left the site spotless each day. It’s rare to find a company that takes such pride in their work and truly cares about customer satisfaction. If you’re looking for a trustworthy, skilled painting and construction contractor, I highly recommend Precision Painting and Construction. I’ll definitely be using them again for future projects! "

Small jobs welcome

"Last night our light switch started making a strange sound, and the ceiling fixture was blinking. Around noon I called Mr. Handyman, was told the repairman could be here this afternoon, and that there was not...not an extra charge for same-day service. The scheduler, Carol, set the expected time would be "4-ish." The guy, Mike, arrived right on time. He quickly found and showed me the trouble - - a loose ground wire. Mike patiently gave me my choices to resolve the problem: replace and up-date the switch or tighten the wire. "Tighten it, Mike," I said. (I like making an informed decision.) Within minutes he was done. He's an asset to the company. PS Fixing a light switch is not given in the "What work did you need done? * section of the review template."

Small jobs welcome

"I could write 1,000+ words about how disappointed I was in Fernando and his company. He gave us a very nice looking job, but not a level or properly pitched patio. He did a retaining wall and fence that was OK, but again attention to detail was lacking. He also did a walkway that was so bad we had to rip it out and redo it. And finally, he did not do the the cleanup that he was supposed to do. I believe he is a low level operator, operating from hand to mouth, and does not take pride in his work, or really care. He personally seems to know what he is doing, but was only on site a third of the time and his crew, what can I say other than take a pass and keep looking. I feel like I bought a nice looking used 6 cylinder car that was only running on 4 cylinders. I would never hire him again or recommend him to anyone. Carl E. (Fairway Village-Vancouver) June 2025"

"Last year, I hired them to clean my windows. I had hired them several times before for different jobs and they did a good job. However, for this window cleaning job, the windows ended up being clean, but due to the force they used to clean the second floor windows from the first floor, the seal of one window broke. The day after the cleaning the window, which was in good condition before, was completely foggy and ruined. I contacted Joe Gaudio and he offered to pay $200 for the replacement which was $500 total. I was ok with this given that the window had 10 years. In the end he never paid for anything, stopped answering my calls or text messages. Anyhow, they lost a good customer, I will never give them my business again."

"Had Affordable Home Remodeling replace several old aluminum windows around our house with modern storm windows. Very knowledgable, and compared to other bids, the price was reasonable. A big plus is they help you with your Oregon energy rebates. Job itself took an extra day due to one supply issues, but not a big deal."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Vancouver, WA

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
