Customers say: Quality work

"Outstanding job, great customer service, great quality of work, great work ethic. It is so nice to have a contractor who does what they say they are going to do and shows up when they say they are going to show up. Phelps Construction removed and rebuilt my garage and they did an outstanding job. I highly recommend this company."

"My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed working with Everest Construction Management Group. Not only was our addition completed on time, but we were also able to stay within the budget we had planned. Everyone that came to work on our home was extremely friendly and professional. We have already recommended this company to our close friends looking to make an addition to their home."

"I used Belletto before to pour a concert slab to park off street at my house.  That experience was great.   <br /> I called Dan about building a shed and he came out in a day or two to discuss plans and specifications.  In June 2015 I provided and earnest check for 1/2 of the project cost.  I was told at that time that the shed would be completed by the end of July 2015.  By the end of August, only the concrete pad had been poured.  Work on the main shed did not start until October.  Weather, broken trucks, etc were all used as reasons for delays.  This is contractor speak for "the dog ate my homework".  I believe if the contractor can't do the work or can't do it in the time specified then that should be stated up front.  The "dog ate my homework" gets very old and aggravating after a few months especially when they are comfortably sitting on 4500.00 of my money.   <br /> During the project one of the guys on the site dented a downspout right near the shed.  I brought the issue up over the phone with Dan and he said he would have it fixed.  It is now January and the dent is still there.   <br /> Quality of the shed is great.  I couldn't be happier about that.   <br /> Bottom line is if you expect something by the time stated by Belletto, guess again.  They want their earnest money early, way early before THEY plan on starting your project.  I was also billed in full two days prior to project completion date, due that day.   <br /> If you want quality work, have money to give to them for a while before they start, and don't mind your calls not returned after you give them the final check, Belletto is for you. <br />"

"Our kitchen renovation project is now complete, and we could not be happier with the final results or Get It Done Contracting.  We have never done a renovation project before, and Dave made us so comfortable from the very start, suggesting ideas, patiently answering all of our questions, and letting us know up front during the estimate that he could not predict how complicated the wall demolition would be until he could see inside the wall and kitchen soffit that was being removed.  Both while we were still shopping around for a contractor and after we signed a contract with Get It Done, Melisa was always willing to take the time to answer our questions via email (in retrospect, I am a bit embarrassed at the number of emails I sent).   Our project involved a substantial amount of demo, carpentry, and finishing work that Dave performed himself, as well as a substantial amount of electrical work.  Dave was always happy to make small changes as the project progressed, and the final price based on ?change orders? to the original work scope was very reasonable.  The electrical subcontractor was also great, and the City inspector breezed through the inspection as he was very familiar with the electrician and knew what high quality work he performed.  After seeing our finished kitchen, and asking many questions of their own, our neighbors from across the street with a similar floor plan are considering a very similar project and they have contacted Get It Done for an estimate on their project.   The fact that we recommended Dave to our neighbors and they have called Dave after seeing his work is the best evidence of our level of satisfaction.  <br /> <br /> <br />"

"The project went very well. Donnie quoted us a good price and had a good understanding of what we wanted done. Donnie kept us informed on his work schedule and he and his crew were always at the house to start the work first thing every morning. They cleaned up the work site everyday before leaving at the end of the day. We are very pleased with how the project looks and turned out."

FAQs for shelter or outbuilding building service projects in Virginia Beach, VA

A bomb shelter is an abode built to withstand disaster. Bomb shelters may refer to a space or bunker that can protect inhabitants through a hypothetical nuclear attack, apocalypse, or any other massive crisis. People usually build bomb shelters underground and stock them to live there a few days to a month at a time. Doomsday bunkers accommodate long-term living rather than just through a short crisis.

Builders construct bomb shelters with reinforced steel, box culvert, concrete, or other durable materials (but many professionals do not recommend shipping containers, as they’re not designed to live underground. If building underground, you’ll first have to excavate land before building the actual structure. You’ll have to implement air and water filtration systems, septic systems, and power supply.

It takes a lot of experience to safely and legally construct a bomb shelter, not to mention make sure it’s fit to live in for extended periods of time. It’s best to talk to a residential structural engineer near you for proper guidance.

The current standard filtration systems require filtering both air and water. For air, you’ll want an NBC filter system, which both domestic and international producers make. NBC stands for Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical, which filters out all three. If you’re only building your shelter for natural disasters, chemical attacks, and biological attacks, you may opt for the less expensive HEPA filter system.

Water filtration requires the same level of care. You’ll likely want to have a large water storage capacity to survive short-term disasters. For long-term living, you’ll want to have a water filtration system.

Rising S bunker prices depend on the size, ranging anywhere from $20,000 to $9 million. Their least expensive model is 96 square feet while their most expensive model has a gym, swimming pool, hot tub, and bowling alley.

  • Mini: $45,500

  • Standard Bomb Shelter: $67,500–$109,500

  • Silver Leaf: $140,000–$182,500

  • Admiral: $180,000–$500,000

  • Xtreme: $450,000–$780,000

  • Xtreme Bunker Complex: $840,000–$1,830,000

  • Luxury Series: $3,800,000–$9,600,000

You almost always need a permit to build a bunker on land with any type of public utilities running through it. You’ll want to check with your local building code enforcement agency to see if this is the case for your area.

Because you’re building a structural component that often requires electricity, water, and sewage services, you’ll need to apply for permits to attach these utilities to your new property. However, off-grid-only units in rural areas may not need all or any of the permitting you’d normally find in more urban settings.

To survive a nuclear blast, you’ll need to have your bunker at least three feet underground. However, it’s usually advisable to put it further underground. To survive a close strike, you’ll want to have the bunker at least 10 feet down and with five-foot thick reinforced concrete. However, knowing exactly how deep to build depends on the size of the blast you’re trying to avoid. Most bunkers don’t need to be more than 5 feet below the ground.
