"I have rain water undermining the driveway near my attached garage. I reasoned that pumping a supporting substance would not only fill in the "undermined soil", the substance forced in under pressure would also support the concrete driveway. The inspector informed me that my theory would not work and that what I needed was pea gravel inserted into the hole created by the drainage. He seemed quite competent and I accepted his assessment. It was refreshing to have a candid answer rather than "we can do it" even though the attempt would not have solved my issue"

"As concrete work goes, this was a very small job.....just extending the width of my driveway about 2-3 feet. Mohamed came to discuss what I wanted and gave me an estimate. Although I received one other estimate which was slightly lower, I liked Mohamed (he was very knowledgeable and friendly and I thought he would be easy to work with) and requested that he do the work. He was able to meet my scheduling needs and everything proceeded on schedule. He and an assistant came one day and "framed" the area to be poured. The tricky part of this job was cutting the street curb and then re-shaping it in a new location when the job was poured. A few days later, per our schedule, Mohamed and his assistant came back, accepted the pour they had arranged, smoothed it out very well, making it blend well with the existing driveway, and re-constructed the curve in the curb. Everything went very smoothly, and the end result was even better than I expected. They cleaned up nicely and now I have a wider driveway! As my review ratings reflect, I was very pleased with their work.

FAQs for concrete injection leveling mudjacking projects in Wake Forest, NC

Mudjacking and foam jacking differ significantly in both materials and methods. Mudjacking uses a cement-based slurry to fill voids beneath a slab, while foam jacking uses expanding polyurethane foam delivered under high pressure to achieve superior structural support. This material distinction enhances load-bearing strength and overall stability in your repair.

Mudjacking takes between one and three days to dry completely. During this time, it's important to avoid putting weight on the slab until it's fully cured. The drying time depends on the project size and environmental conditions. In contrast, polyurethane foam used in foam jacking can cure in as little as one hour.

No, mudjacking is not a permanent fix for sinking concrete. While it effectively lifts the slab and can last five to 10 years, it doesn't address underlying soil issues that may cause future sinking. For a more permanent solution, you might consider foam jacking or complete slab replacement, which can address deeper structural problems.
