"Hal's work is top-notch but I grew increasingly frustrated with the timing and inconsistency of his work habits. His was one of several estimates I received and basically he said he would beat any estimate I received. The difference is that everyone else was going to use cedar and he only works with pressure-treated Southern yellow pine, which is less than half the cost of cedar. I was unsure of the durability and longevity of that product so I did extensive research online. Still unsure, I drive around the Twin Cities to see other jobs Hal did that gave stood the test of time and I decided to move forward. Clearly, the way he builds his fences require considerably more manual labor than those built with cedar posts and pickets so essentially instead of paying for the higher cost of cedar, you pay for increased labor costs. Unfortunately, Hal isn't as going as predicting when he will get jobs complete as he is completing them well. He was over a month late in getting started and I repeatedly had to call him to inquire about the delay. It was quite frustrating but since I didn't absolutely need the fence done by a certain date, I decided to practice patience. Once he finally started, most days he and his helper only worked 4 hours so the project dragged on far longer than I thought it would. Admittedly, there were a couple of weather-related days but other times when it was a perfect day, they wouldn't show up and I would give no idea when they were coming again. After I told him I really needed to have him be more communicative, he was and within a short time after that conversation, he completed the fence. The fence is beautiful and appears very sturdy. We'll see how it withstands time and weather but for now I am very happy with it. Hal does beautiful work but if you are on a strict timeline I would not recommend working with him. If you are flexible and don't mind putting more effort into communication, he is a great person to work with.

"Greene Construction Inc was amazing. The best contractor I have ever had and will use them again for sure.
First they installed the egress window for us and the next day came back to build a pine wall and door so our middle child could have his own bedroom.
It took two full days and it was worth it. Both mornings they showed up at 8 AM and worked until it was done. They cleaned up well after the work was done as well.
The company is great and I recommend them to all.
TJ and Gary do great work and are really nice guys and they know what they are doing.

Initially we contacted him to replace some 65yr old windows, and he was the only contractor to bring to our attention that we had hail damage on the window wraps, siding, gutters, and roof. "After getting a bid from Cady this summer, I hired them to do some work on my house (clean gutters, install gutter covers I'd purchased and fix a piece of siding). They agreed to do the work on September 10 at 1:00 p.m. They didn't show, and they didn't return my calls over the next couple of days. I felt they wasted my time. I gave them an F rating here and moved on to look for other handyman companies. Except that finding another company turned out to be easier said than done (the ones I contacted didn't serve my area or didn't want to do work on a 2-story house or were booked for months). A week later, my contact at Cady called to apologize. He said he'd gone out of town and the people back at the office dropped the ball. He offered to do the work for a reduced fee. I hadn't hired another company and was starting to wonder if I'd find one before winter, so I agreed to hire them. Two workers showed up as promised on September 21. They did a great job and were knowledgeable and personable. My husband and I were very happy with the work, and we would hire them again.

They do excellent work and the clean-up was great too. Roof was done in two days. Highly recommend Ed."

"We first hired Paul in 2011 to handle the 'restoration' of a cedar sided greenhouse attached to our home (both exterior and interior). It proved to be a complex and challenging project.  Thanks to Paul, there were no 'surprises'.  His pricing was beyond fair.  You don't need to be concerned about any overselling or lack or concern for quality.  We were so impressed with the outcome on our greenhouse project that we didn't consider approaching other contractors to bid on projects we wanted  completed this summer.  
Paul is unusually effective in his ability to assess a project, anticipate what will be required, articulate the  project scope in a clear and concise proposal and keep the customer informed and aware every step of the way (i.e. no surprises).  Each of our three projects presented unique and often challenging aspects---project # 1 required judgement calls on evaluating the scope of the project  (e.g. how much siding/soffit material required replacement); managing angles and elevations that were problematic at best, and somehow meetIng a deadline so the painting company could proceed on schedule (remember June and all that rain--).  Project #2 required regrading the ground beneath the deck and installing ledger flashing to resolve a water leakage problem. Project #3 , well, it's our garden!  Details are everything, and Paul managed to deliver beyond our expectations.
Obviously, we have great confidence in Paul Landmann and have no hesitation in giving him our highest recommendation.
