"I highly recommend General Remodeling Group! We hired them to update the exterior of our home, and their team did an amazing job. Dan, the project manager, really listened to my ideas and quickly designed the perfect custom frame for our door. The whole team was responsive, punctual, and easy to work with. Their attention to detail in the carpentry was impressive. We absolutely loved the final result and had a great experience working with them!"

"Sam Banks Jr will charm you and give you a very fair quote- it might even seem like a steal. Don?t take it. We hired Banks and Son to redo our shower and the lack of attention to detail was atrocious. The final product was sloppy, there were cracked tiles left on the wall, our shower door was installed slanted leaving a large gap at the bottom, the grout was cracked, there was a divot in the floor where water pooled, and there were parts of the shower that were left unsealed. When I emailed Sam about these issues, he was aggressive, misogynistic, and dismissive. He gave excuses and blamed me. Even after he reluctantly fixed everything but the floor- we had another contractor clean up his mess. I would not recommend, his ego is the size of Mars, he?s aggressive towards women, and clearly lacks pride in his services "

"Frank and his team at Kozan did an absolutely incredible job on my house replumb! We had to replace our 1980s polybutylene pipes as they were finally starting to leak, and knew it would be an invasive job. I had 5 companies come out and quote me - Kozan came in the most reasonable, but that wasn't the only reason I went with them. When Frank was here doing his estimate, he was the only guy who really looked at the pipes, and started putting together a plan; having worked construction myself, this is exactly what I would've done. All the others were in and out with a handshake and a couple pics. Regarding the work, they replumbed the house with minor intrusion, and even took care to cut the drywall stud-to-stud to make my patchwork a bit easier. They did everything they could to keep the water running to all the lines not being worked on, and cleaned everything up every day before they left. All-in-all the job was very well done, and Frank was a true professional. Thanks Frank!"

"Our place had good bones but didn’t work for our daily life. Every room felt cut off from the next. Ben and Teddy from Top Remodeling sat with us and came up with a better layout without changing the size of the home. They moved the hallway, opened the living area, and added a custom touch in almost every room. They rebuilt the inside from the studs and used solid-core doors and clean finishes. We went with soft white walls, bronze handles, and natural maple cabinets. Now, it all feels open and calm. Every room has a purpose."

"Ruben and his team were excellent from the beginning of our bathroom renovation to the end. Ruben provided a thorough consultation at our home, let us know about the timeline, and worked with us to ensure we had the materials we needed (we procured some we wanted to pick out and we procured others that we needed help with). He provided good recommendations during the project, kept us updated, and ultimately finished the project within the timeframe he gave. We were really happy with the quality of the finished bathroom and we would definitely recommend Two Brothers."

Customers say: Quality work

"Fantastic! Devin and his team remodeled three of the four bedrooms in my townhouse in Clarendon: the first about four years ago and the other two bathrooms two years ago. He also built me a new closet in the master bedroom. The entire experience was amazing. The work is top quality - years later it still looks perfect and I have not had any problems - and his team is polite, professional, timely and they left my home spotless when they left. And since the work has been completed, Devin has helped me with little issues for free whenever I needed help. He is truly a talented professional and a stellar person. Can’t recommend highly enough!"

FAQs for addition to existing structure building service projects in Washington DC, DC

You can typically raise your roof by four to eight feet, depending on your home's structure and roof design. The exact amount depends on factors like roof slope and framing support. Raising the roof creates additional interior space, enhances natural light, and increases your home's value. Consult a professional to determine the feasible height increase for your home.

Yes, you need a building permit to raise your roof. Obtaining a building permit ensures your project complies with local building codes and safety regulations. A professional contractor can assist with the permit and inspection process and ensure all legal and safety requirements are met. Your contractor will be familiar with building codes in your area, which can differ between cities or states.

While it's possible to raise a flat roof, it requires extensive structural modifications. Flat roofs lack the attic space and support structures of pitched roofs, so raising them involves significant engineering to ensure safety and durability. This process can be complex and costly, so professional assessment is essential before undertaking a project of this magnitude.
