"I was very impressed by their company. They were several days out in scheduling but the project manager went the same day to get the materials and came back the following day with his mason to finish it up. They explained exactly what they were doing and provided me with a warranty and 24 hour service. The area around the baywindow is where my sons play area is. They made sure everything was properly covered and were pleasant to work which hasn't been my experience with other contractors in the past. I recommended them to my parents as they were looking to get their kitchen floors redone and they a binder of work they have done and services they offer. After going to several bigger contractors in the area my parents decided to go with them. They love how the work is going and their customer service."

"Upon digging into the wood rot, they discovered the rot to be extensive and that the cost to replace two window sills would be
approximately $1100.00.  I decided not to spend this amount of money to repair windows that are 37 years old.  They will send
me an estimate of cost to replace the rotted windows with new ones.  Although I am disappointed that the repair could not be
done for $149, they showed me the extent of the rot and what needed to be done to properly fix the problem.  I am pleased with
their service, knowledge and professionalism.  Based on my limited experience with Angel Home Enterprise, I recommend them.

"Mr. Costillo always showed up on time for appointments, returned all phone calls, and was friendly, courteous, and professional. We hired him based on his photo portfolio and his responsiveness to our requests for wood, stain, and style of the finished piece. One concern was that initially his quote was based on hand-sketched notes instead of a formal contract, but, upon our urging, Mr. Costillo submitted a complete drawing and formalized contract that we both signed. After signing the contract and paying 1/2 of the total, he went off to construct the piece at his workshop. He and his assistant came to install the piece on-time and installation was professional, clean, and beautiful. We are absolutely stunned with the finished product. It is exactly what we had envisioned, and Walter captured everything we had wanted."

FAQs for water dock building service projects in Washington, DC

With the right design and maintenance, a vinyl sea wall capped with concrete can serve you for 50 to 70 years, while poured-concrete walls last 50 to 60 years. Steel or aluminum options last 30 to 40 years, and treated wood holds up for 10 to 25 years. Plan on regular inspections and prompt repairs to keep any sea wall performing at its best for decades.

A bulkhead holds back soil in calm, inland waters, while a sea wall is built for pounding coastal waves. The sea wall’s job is to absorb and deflect wave energy, offering stronger erosion control. A bulkhead mainly keeps soil in place but isn’t designed to stand up to heavy surf.

A sea wall needs a deep footing—four to 10 feet or more—so it can resist shifting soils and constant wave pressure. The exact depth depends on your soil conditions, water depth, chosen material, and local building codes. Your marine contractor may dig even deeper to secure the wall in place and meet the structural specifications.

Plan on a quick visual check every season. Look for cracks, loose panels, or washed-out soil, clear weep holes so water can drain, and trim plants that push against the wall. Catching small issues early helps maintain the structure's soundness and prevents major repair bills later. Your sea wall builder can make recommendations for an ongoing maintenance plan that will help keep your sea wall in optimal condition.

Most residential sea walls are completed in an average of one to three weeks, covering preparation work, sheet piling, and cleanup. Larger commercial walls require additional engineering and can extend well beyond that window. Your crew drives steel or vinyl sheets into the soil, then finishes caps, tie-backs, and grading before final inspection.

The “best” wall is the one engineered for your site, but concrete often tops the list for pure strength and longevity. It anchors soil, blocks water, and handles repeated wave hits better than wood or light-gauge steel. Collaborate with a marine contractor to determine the ideal material for your shoreline and budget.
