"Since I had to be out of town for a few days before the water heater could be replaced, I called Starkey's for advice on how to shut down the water and gas properly.  He replied right away, had me take and send some pictures of the unit so he could buy parts in advance, then turned up right away and on time as soon as I returned from my trip.  He got the old water heater out, the new one in, and old parts and refuse cleared away.  He had a quick look at some other issues around the house, and we arranged a return trip.
The only drawback is the overflow valve on the new water heater, which began to leak right away, but he'll replace it if necessary when he comes back in a few days for the other jobs.  All in all, a good experience: Starkey was helpful in advance, efficient and effective on the job, and generous with his advice.  It's not one of the big operations in town: there's no middle man, no corporate rigmarole, just a direct connection between the customer and the man doing the work, and he clearly cares about his reputation and therefore the customer's satisfaction.

"JRG was great! We called them in the evening the received a response that same night. My husband and I work and JRG was able to accommodate our schedules. They came by at 3:30 P.M. the next day. They were very professional, looked over the water heater and decided it may need cleaned. After a thorough cleaning, the pilot was turned on and the water heater was once again working.... no need for a replacement at this time! We would definitely call them back for all of our plumbing needs."
