"John did an excellent job painting the exterior of our house. The estimate he gave was accurate to the final cost of the job, and he completed the job in the amount of time he estimated. He was communicative in the lead up to the job and promptly addressed any concerns. He kept a clean worksite and did a very neat job painting. He was also very helpful in pointing out a few areas for me to keep an eye on in the future for possible repairs. All, said, I had a great experience hiring John."

"James was polite, professional, timely and reasonably priced. Hope to hire him again for our next home improvement project!"

"I have hired these guys to come back and do more work at my home. They are very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Phone calls or texts to Matt were answered in a very timely manor which I appreciated very much. Matt is local and is experienced with Vermont old homes. Repairs are complete and the cost is very reasonable. I have already recommended him to my family and friends. Thanks to Emilio and Trevor for great on-site work. You both are competent, considerate, and keep a clean safe work zone. Iâ m very happy with the job well done."

"Excellent work done efficiently and quickly. Reasonable price plus he cleaned up after project was finished. Highly recommend."

"We originally hired Kyle for a deck replacement. After seeing how well everything went he was our first call when we needed to build an addition on our home. Very professional and courteous highly recommend"

"Les, Matt and the entire Free Range team did a wonderful job in our Vermont home. Very conscientious and detail oriented. Despite the chaos of boxes and appliances in the living/work space, our house was left clean each day. They were very open and honest about the cost of the project from the very beginning. We were not present for most of the work so the crew sent daily progress updates and pictures. We will definitely hire them for all of our future projects."

"We had searched for a roofing contractor for several weeks to replace deteriorating ridge cap shingles, but it was tough to get a response from most. Rick responded within a day, and came out to look at the project. He described what he would do and the materials he would use. A contract followed a few days later with an estimated start date. Price looked very reasonable. We had a little confusion leading up to the job due to difficult weather, but Rick was in constant contact throughout. In the end the crew showed up one day before the estimated start date. They started at 9:00am and finished the job by 3:00 the same day. Work was done professionally and they cleaned up after themselves completely. Rick was very considerate of our Covid concerns, and careful to wear a mask when speaking to us. Overall they did a great job, for a good price, and were easy to work with. Highly recommended."

"I cannot speak highly enough of Tom and Brad Green of Colonial Restorations. We have lived in our antique house for 16 years now, and like most old homes, some of its previous repairs were good, some not so good. Tom Green worked on this house for its previous owners, and his work was, by far, the best in the house. So, we continued to use Colonial - Tom, then Tom and Brad - as we learned the ropes about caring for an old house - our first house, old or new. Over the years, they have replaced sills and posts and beams, and rebuilt parts of our loose stone foundation. Most recently, they replaced the last original posts in our basement, (one of which was a tree trunk still with bark on it), including pouring new custom footings, in advance of our finally cementing the dirt floor. The work here is never easy - nothing is level, nothing is square - but the Greens' end result has always been beautiful - strong and made to last. Their prices are fair and without hidden costs....maybe not the lowest bid you might get, but you know it's a real bid that they will stand behind. They triage projects for us, giving us an idea of what other items will likely need attention in the next few years. We're not done with this house yet....we've never won the lottery, and there's always another repair..... and plan to use them again soon. I feel confident knowing that the next owners of this house, whoever they might be, will see the quality of the work and know that we cared enough to have the right people help us with the ongoing repair and maintenance of a 275+ year old house. I am a real person, a real customer, with no ties to the company, and was more than happy to write this review."
